    摘要： A machining center includes a rotatable tool magazine (22) arranged above a work space (WS) facing a spindle (15) tilted so that the spindle side becomes lower and having a plurality of grippers (24) for holding tools (16) in a circumferential direction, and a shutter (26) arranged below the tool magazine (22) to be able to open and close facing the spindle side. The tool magazine (22) has a tool-free area (AR2) where there are no grippers (24) at a part of the circumferential direction and a tool-holding area (ARA) where there are grippers (24) at another part of the circumferential direction. The tool magazine (22) is controlled in rotation so that when the shutter (26) is closed, the tool-free area (AR2) moves to the spindle side while when the shutter (26) is open, the tool-holding area (AR1) moves to the spindle side.

    摘要： A disclosed example tool changer for changing a tool on a spindle of a machine tool comprises a tool drum having a plurality of tool holders to hold tools. The example tool changer also includes an axle carrier on which the tool drum is rotatably supported to align the tool holders with the spindle. A first coupling portion is rotatably supported on the axle carrier. At least one first gear stage is provided via which the first coupling portion is connected to the tool drum. The first coupling portion is adapted to be coupled or uncoupled with a second coupling portion rotatably supported on a spindle stock of the machine tool and connected to the spindle of the machine tool via at least one second gear stage. The tool drum is adapted to be driven, when the first and second coupling portions are in a coupled state, by the spindle of the machine tool via the at least one second gear stage, the second and first coupling portions and the at least one first gear stage to align the tool holders.

    摘要： A tool changing apparatus automatically changes tools mounted on the spindle of a transfer machine module. The apparatus includes a tool gripper magazine that releasably holds at least two tools. A guillotine supports the tool gripper magazine for motion between a raised stand-by position clear of the spindle and a lowered tool change position closer to the spindle so that the tools in the magazine can be exchanged with a tool supported on the spindle. A carriage movably supports the guillotine on a support frame for motion between a forward position adjacent the transfer line and the spindle and a rearward position displaced from the transfer line. When the carriage is in the rearward position, the guillotine can be lowered to a position where it is easily accessible to an operator so that the tools in the magazine can be replenished.
