    摘要: A power transmission is provided. The power transmission includes a housing including a continuous channel following a three-dimensional path. A plurality of beads is located within the continuous channel and movable therein. A first sprocket is rotateably connected to the housing and forms a first portion of the continuous channel in movable contact with the plurality of beads. A second sprocket is rotateably connected to the housing and forms a second portion of the continuous channel in movable contact with the plurality of beads, the second sprocket having an axis of rotation angled with respect to an axis of rotation of the first sprocket. A milling tool and a method of removing material from a work piece are also provided.

The pins have enlarged ends and reduced centers. The centers of the pins ride on a centrally disposed shedder which acts as a guide rail. The direct drive communicates with the drive sprockets, traveling through the drive sprockets to rotate the drive sprockets to transfer torque.

    摘要: A transmission comprising an outer hollow stationary casing having first and second open ends, an outer surface and a cylindrical inner surface. The inner surface has a circumferentially extending, uniformly shaped first zigzag groove. A first hollow cylindrical member is rotatably mounted coaxially within the casing and has an axially aligned output shaft which extends outwardly from the second end of the casing. The cylindrical member has a plurality of transversely extending parallel slots extending therethrough which register with the first zigzag groove. A second hollow cylindrical member is rotatably mounted coaxially within the first cylindrical member and has an output connector extending outwardly from the closed end thereof. A circumferentially extending, uniformly shaped second zigzag groove is formed on the outer surface of the second cylindrical member and registers with a portion of each slot. A bearing is operably journaled within each slot and is received between the first and second zigzag grooves to rotatably support and operably connect the second cylindrical member within the first cylindrical member and the first cylindrical member within the casing.

    摘要: A power-transmitting and torque-converting positive drive system provides an infinitely variable (IV) ratio of angular speed adjustments between a power input shaft and a power output shaft. The power is transmitted by means of a continuous chain of balls pushing one another forward. These balls interact with the input shaft and the output shaft by means of the cooperation of two groups of balls simultaneously constrained between sets of associated short straight grooves and corresponding helical grooves. One group of balls is located between the input shaft and a sleeve, whereas the other group of balls is located between the output shaft and that sleeve. The balls are guided and restrained in a plurality of open-loop channels that enable each ball to progressively shift from one group to another, each ball acting as the individual tooth of a gear. These open loops are interconnected to form an endless closed loop housed in the sleeve structure nestled between the input shaft outer surface and the inner surface of a portion of the output shaft that surrounds a corresponding portion of the input shaft. Reverse speed and torque control features are provided. Slippage is altogether eliminated. Locking of the input shaft and/or the balls automatically locks the output shaft.

    摘要: A direct drive robot which includes a pedestal having two motors which rotate around a common axis to directly drive rotation of first and of second linking arms which are rotating in a plane perpendicular to this pedestal. The first, inner link is preferably driven through a column directly driven by a first motor rotor, the column supporting the inner end of the link. The second, outer link is driven by the second coaxial direct drive motor through a simple, highly-tensioned belt and pulley arrangement. As a result of this direct drive arrangement, movement is provided about two separate parallel axes by two arms arranged perpendicular to the first axis which mounts the two major driving motors of the robot. These two arms are linked together between this major pedestal and the end effector of the robot, centralizing the driving motors at the main stabilizing pedestal, while providing rapid rotational movement around each of the two axes. The first axis is defined by the major pedestal, the second axis is defined by the junction between the inner and outer linking arms which connect the pedestal to the end effector.
