    摘要： A machine for cutting stacked sheet material and like comprising a frame supporting the apparatus, and first and second guideways having first and second fixed guideway members mounted on the frame in a laterally spaced apart relationship, and first and second movable guideway members movably supported by the first and second fixed guideway members and oriented to shift vertically. A knife holder is connected with the first and second movable guideway members adjacent opposite sides thereof, and is configured to be shifted vertically. An actuator is operably connected between the frame and the knife holder for selectively shifting the knife holder vertically. A knife is connected with the knife holder, and includes an edge sharpened for cutting the sheet material when the knife holder is shifted vertically. A pivot bearing rotatably connects the knife holder with at least one of the first and second movable guideway members to facilitate cutting the sheet material.

    摘要： The invention relates to a tree felling unit of the type at which a frame supports arms for pressing the tree stem against a stop member on the frame, whereafter cutting is effected by means of a cutting device supported by the frame. The invention shows the improvement that the cutting device is an endless saw chain driven along a guiding edge of a disc slidable along a straight track in the frame and drivable against the tree stem with the guiding disc edge facing the stem. Hereby a unit is obtained having the advantages of the shear knife, such as compact dimensions and directed felling effect, but not its disadvantages, such as damages on the surface wood and requirements on a very high driving effect.

    摘要： An apparatus for cutting circular arcs or holes in a picture mat includes a flat base upon which the mat rests and a platform provided above the base . A disc member is suitably mounted for rotation adjacent the platform about a center axis. A crank mechanism having a axle extending perpendicularly through the disc member and a mounting arm attached to an extending perpendicular arm from the end of the axle are provided on the disc member. This crank mechanism is slidably mounted to the disc member. A cutting blade is then adjustable mounted along the mounting arm and at an angle to the mat. The circles or arcs are cut in the mat by rotation of the crank mechanism--at a location determined by the position of the crank mechanism and of the disc member, and with a diameter determined by the position of the cutting blade relative to the mounting arm.

    摘要： An orbital pipe machine guiding system to guide the machine around the circumference of a pipe has a link chain having first and second ends and a length equal to at least the circumference of the pipe and has means to attach the link chain to itself around and against the pipe in a circle perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe. At least one wheel is operatively connected to the machine, such that when the wheel is positioned for revolving engagement with the link chain, the machine will be guided in the circle defined by the link chain. In one embodiment, the wheel has a continuous slot formed therein extending radially inward from the periphery thereof, and the inside surfaces of the slot slidingly engage the link chain. Any one link chain may be used for several pipe sizes and the fastening arrangement of the link chain is such that surplus chain overlaps a portion of the chain lying against the pipe. The slot in the wheel extends far enough to accommodate such overlap.
