    摘要: A lattice cutting or slicing machine includes a multi-knife lattice cutting plate mounted in-line along an hydraulic flow path through which vegetable products such as potatoes are propelled in single file by a hydraulic fluid such as water. The lattice cutting plate is orbitally driven for engaging in succession each of the multiple knives thereon with the vegetable product to form lattice cut slices wherein successive generally corrugated cuts are angularly oriented typically perpendicular to each other, and further wherein the depths or troughs of the corrugated cuts on opposite sides of each slice intersect in the preferred form to define a pattern of corrugations interrupted by small openings.

    摘要: The planetary tubing cutter of the invention provides a gearing assembly having a pair of ring gears and a number of pinions with a blade affixed to each pinion. The ring gears are parallel to one another and are individually driven. The pinions are rotatably mounted to a side surface of one ring gear and engage a sun gear assembled to the other ring gear. When the ring gears rotate at the same speed, the pinions and blades do not revolve around their respective axes, and when one ring gear rotates at a speed different from the other ring gear, the pinions and blades revolve about their respective axes, intercepting and cutting a tube passing through an axial passage through the ring gears.

    摘要: The apparatus for cutting film tubing described herein is intended for use in a machine for applying tubular labels to each of a series of containers that are transported on a conveyor. The film tubing is advanced incrementally through a ring gear and a bore in a platform on which the ring gear is rotatably mounted. A number of pinions with attached cutting blades are rotatably mounted to the platform in positions to mesh with the ring gear. One of the pinions is driven to rotate a single revolution when the film tubing has been advanced. The driven pinion causes the additional pinions to rotate through rotation of the ring gear, causing the blades to cut the film tubing.

The circular motion of the saw is coupled with a movement of the saw radially inward toward the center of the axis of the circular movement. The roll is thereby cut in ever increasing depths about its circumference. The machine is mounted on a portable hydraulic lift and controlled by a remote controller positioned a safe distance away from the saw. The machine and the roll of material can be more easily aligned through the use of an alignment track.

    摘要: A system for handling a flexible thin wall tubular extrudate of an elastomeric material of the type used as a body ply element for the manufacture of tires, and for cutting-off a predetermined length sleeve of the extrudate and delivering the sleeve to a discharge station. A pair of grippers is movably mounted on carriage assemblies which move the grippers horizontally and transversely with respect to the axis of the extrudate. The leading gripper provides tension to the extrudate and pulls it along a production axis. The trailing gripper engages the extrudate and moves in unison with the extrudate and the leading gripper along the production axis. The grippers completely circumferentially envelop the length of sleeve to be cut from the extrudate and retain the shape of the extrudate by applying a vacuum thereto. A cutting mechanism having a fixed motor driven blade and a pair of similar pivotally mounted blades moves vertically down into contact with the extrudate between the pair of grippers. The rotating blades are rotated through at least 120.degree. arc to achieve a 360.degree. cut on the extrudate as it is being moved under tension longitudinally by the grippers. After completion of the actual cutting operation the leading gripper transfer the severed sleeve to a discharge station and returns to a home position and now becomes the trailing gripper. The previous trailing gripper becomes the leading gripper and continues to advance the extrudate along the production axis and apply tension thereto for the next cutting operation.

    摘要: The wafering machine is provided with a two-piece housing for mounting the spindle of the saw blade. The tube is continuously advanced from driving rollers to idler rollers and passes through intermediate pinch rollers which are cam controlled in synchronism with the cutting process to bow the tube at a rate which causes the tube portion at the cutting station to briefly stop during cutting. The cutter includes a planetary gear set having a carrier rotatable about a central axis which carries a knife for rotation about another axis while it revolves about the central axis. The knife makes many rotations per carrier revolution but is in position to cut the tube during one of the rotations.
