摘要: Ground engaging boundary element (10) comprises opposing edge portions and earth engaging means (26) for anchoring element (10) in the earth. Earth engaging means (26) is formed at lower edge portion (18) of element (10). At least one of the opposing edge portions includes interlocking means (22) for joining to an adjacent ground engaging boundary element. Interlocking means (22) comprises complementary-shaped tongue or groove members and extends partially along each edge portion to adjacent lower edge portion (18). In use, earth engaging means (26) together with part of interlocking means (22) is embedded in the earth, and upper portion (24) of element (10) conceals interlocking means (22). The opposing edge portions of element (10) are also shaped to permit articulation of adjacent interlocked elements so as to provide for a non-linear elongated boundary structure.

摘要: An outer margin of a lining sheet is secured to a land border of a pond by a device comprising an elongate member and a plurality of fasteners, such as metal or polymeric stakes. The elongate member defines a wall and a flange projecting from the wall, meeting the wall at a junction dividing the wall into an upper portion and a lower portion, and being divided into a series of tabs enabling the wall to flex, each tab having a preformed hole. Each fastener has a pointed shank, which is driven through the preformed hole of a respective one of the tabs of the flange, through the outer margin of the lining sheet, into the land border of the pond, whereby to secure the outer margin of the lining sheet to the land border of the pond so that the upper portion of the wall projects upwardly and defines a landscaping or hardscaping border and so that the lower portion of the wall projects downwardly into the pond to limit uplifting of the lining sheet.

摘要: Tree surround (10) comprises a circular wall (11) formed by injection moulding in the circular shape shown from flexible polymeric material, specifically polypropylene. The material is selected to be sufficiently flexible so that the wall (11) can be distorted or twisted as shown to allow the bead (18) to be inserted from one end and to be pushed or pulled with a sliding action. Because of the flexible nature of the material then allowing for the twisting of the wall (11), it is still feasible to slide the bead (18) into the space defined by the flange (18) and an offset flange (22). This is assisted by having a lead-in shape into the space. The offset flange (22) further defining the space allows for the alignment of the wall (11) to match at each of the ends. The side wall (11) has a curvature when seen in cross section, and has a larger diameter at its base lower edge (12) than at its upper edge. The extent of the taper thus formed is such as to ensure that the respective surrounds will nest one within the other to enable efficient transport of many of the surrounds together in an assembled form. The lower edge (12) is in the form of a series of scallops (14) which define between them “blunt spikes” (15) which can more readily enter the soil than a straight edge; and physically assist in the retention or the surround in a situation where it has been located. Moulding this shape as circular in the first instance means that the shape is in a resting mode when in this shape at the start. Accordingly, when the ends are joined, there will be minimal pressure to urge on an ongoing basis any separation of any interlocked joint. There will therefore be a minimal pressure on the joint.

摘要: The present invention aims at providing the water-storing tray for the plant cultivation mat, with the concomittant objects of ameliorating the water irrigation function in the plant cultivation mat as well as of facilitating control of the water content in the soil. An additional object is to much more stabilize the plant cultivating arrangement as a whole on the mat laying surface. Disclosed is a water-storing tray for plant cultivation mat, which is characterized in that a linkage part having a substantially hook-shape in its cross-section and a large breadth on its upper surface is provided externally on the upper end part of at least one side wall of the water-storing tray, and a linkage part having a substantially hook-shape in its cross-section and a small breadth on its upper surface is provided externally on the upper end part of the other side wall. It is preferable that the side end part of the linkage part at the required location is cut out, and the upper surface of the linkage part having a large breadth on its upper surface is brought to a level higher than the upper surface of the linkage part having the small breadth on its upper surface. Further, the inside of the water-storing tray should preferably be defined into a plurality of water storage cells, and a concaved groove be formed at the required location of the upper end part of the side wall. Desired water-storing trays are selected from among the abovementioned water-storing trays, and the linkage part having the large breadth on its upper surface and the linkage part having the small breadth on its upper surface are mutually engaged to be arranged continuously on the mat laying surface.

摘要: A slope guard device having one or more panels formed of impervious material, interlocking along their periphery to form a rigid annular unit capable of encircling a planted area on a slope. The panels define an inner side adjacent to roots, and an outer side remote from roots, said panels of varying heights to allow a user to customize a slope profile to a slope where taller panels support the slope above the planted area. Vanes extend from the panels and project inwardly from the inner side of the panels. The vanes direct root growth. Vents are attachable to some of the vanes each having an open upper end and open lower end, said vents providing additional structural support for the slope guard. The vents guide steel stakes that can be driven into the ground.
