摘要： A hair styling aid, in particular for curling hair, is described. The hair styling aid includes a handle and a housing connected to the handle, the housing having: guide means for receiving a length of hair to be styled, the guide means being provided by an aperture in the housing through which the length of hair is admitted into the housing in use; a rotatable element in the housing, rotatable relative to the guide means; a motor for rotating the rotatable element in a clockwise direction or in an anticlockwise direction; and an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element; wherein the rotatable element has two hair-pushing surfaces, one of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated clockwise and the other of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated anticlockwise in use.

摘要： There is provided a hair styling device having a body defining a chamber adapted to accommodate a length of hair, the chamber having a primary opening through which the length of hair may pass. The device also has a rotatable element adapted to engage the length of hair adjacent to the primary opening, and an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element. The device has at least one sensor adapted to detect misplaced hair. The sensor can be connected to a control system for the rotatable element whereby rotation of the rotatable element can be prevented when misplaced hair is detected by the sensor.

摘要： The invention relates to hair rollers and provides for the use of a cylindrical tube rolled from a rectangular perforated sheet of flexible material, the sheet having an outer edge which overlaps a portion of the tube. The tube has a pair of opposing transverse edges, each of which is engaged within a spiral groove formed in opposing caps. The caps are rotationally mounted on an elongated shaft, such that rotation of the disks causes advancement of the transverse edges within the sprial groove, changing the diameter of the outer tube, as desired. An indicia on the outer surface of one or two caps allows to select the diameter of the tube when rotating the caps. The shaft has slotted projections on opposing ends with one or both of which an elongated resilient band is engaged.

摘要： A method for curling hair on the scalp of a user is described. The steps include winding a plurality of strands of hair around a finger or pin to form a coil, and retaining the hair in its wound state with a spring action clip. the clip has two bars arranged next to each other connected by a spring which biases the two bars naturally closed. Spheres are provided at free ends of the bars which contact each other in the closed state and provide an interstice between the bars allowing the strands of hair to be held lossely when a retaining part of one of the bars extends through the coil of hair.

摘要： A bobbin or spool type hair curler having a cylindrical hair roller portion formed between a pair of opposing parallel flanges and provided with a pliable, integrally formed, cup-shaped closure member. The closure member is axially aligned to one of the end flanges of the spool shaped hair roller portion. The wall of the cup-shaped closure member extends away from the spool shaped portion and, after the hair is wound upon the spool shaped portion, the wall may be flipped substantially 180.degree. about its point of attachment to its corresponding flange in order to place the rim of the cup-shaped closure member proximate to the other flange to thereby retain the hair around the spool shaped portion. The invention additionally includes a method for curling hair with the aforementioned device and, in one embodiment the hair curler is provided with an axial throughbore and the invention further includes a method for heating same.
