摘要： The combination hair dryer cover and head shield is for use with a hood-type hair dryer and is useful for protecting the forehead, features and neck of the user from excess heat being emitting from the hair dryer. The apparatus comprises a hood cover and a head shield which are stitched together around the perimeter of a common seam. The apparatus will protect uncovered portions of the patrons' head from heat energy from the hair dryer. The shield cover and the hood cover are each made of a clear plastic material. The hood cover is secured onto the hood by an elastic band and the shield is retained onto the head of the patron by another elastic band. The hood cover can be readily separated from the head shield along perforations disposed about the perimeter of the head shield proximate to the head shield elastic band positioned about the hairline of the patron. Once separated, the hood cover is discarded, the head shield can thereafter be used as needed.

摘要： A hair styling system is disclosed wherein a hair styling mold is placed on the head of an individual whose hair is to be styled. Surface contours of the hair styling mold are spaced from the head of the individual and correspond with a desired shape of the hair style. The hair styling mold is receivable in a hood which provides a defined airflow. The hair styling mold is designed to permit such airflow therethrough and an airflow generating unit connected to the hood creates the airflow through the mold for drying the hair in the shape provided by the surface contours of the hair styling mold.

The microwave source is cycled with a cycle time of from about 1/2 second to 15 seconds on, followed by an interval of about 1/2 to 30 seconds off. An apparatus for practicing this technique comprises a microwave oven adapted with means for forced circulation of air, optionally heated, through the wig, and means for exhausting circulated air from the oven.
