摘要:
A cleaning apparatus of the present invention includes a roll brush for scrubbing the surface of the substrate, and an ultrasonic nozzle for blowing an aqueous cleaning solution against the surface of the substrate and generating an ultrasonic wave, wherein the roll brush and the ultrasonic nozzle are provided so as to oppose one another so that the substrate can be set in between. With the synergetic effects of brush scrubbing cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning and shower-cleaning, the precision cleaning of the upper surface of the substrate can be performed at a sufficient level of cleanliness. Moreover, in a state where the substrate to be cleaned is set, the roll brush can be cleaned automatically by the ultrasonic nozzle, and it is therefore possible to maintain the roll brush at high level of cleanliness without requiring maintenance operations. Furthermore, by integrating the roll brush and the ultrasonic wave nozzle in one part, the size of the apparatus can be reduced in the transport direction of the substrate, thereby reducing an overall footprint area.

An electric toothbrush having a handle which houses a motor and a toothbrush member. The toothbrush member is configured for coupling with the handle. The toothbrush member has a plurality of brushes that rotate in opposite directions to enhance teeth cleaning, plaque removal and gum prophylaxis. Two separate switches are provided, one providing momentary operation and the other continuous.

A vacuum cleaner brushroll having skirted, one piece plastic ferrules inserted into the ends of a tufted, wood spindle so that the ferrule skirts embrace the spindle end portions to prevent the ferrules from loosening upon expansion of the spindle due to moisture. The skirts are drilled to permit angled tufting to be inserted very near the spindle ends with the tufting extending axially and radially outwardly beyond the spindle ends to provide improved edge cleaning and create a wider cleaning path compared to conventional brushroll designs.

A substrate cleaning apparatus comprises a side surface cleaning member and a peripheral edge cleaning member. The side surface cleaning member includes a cylindrical scrub cleaning body having a cylindrical surface and opposite ends. The cylindrical scrub cleaning body is adapted to be rotated about its axis with the cylindrical surface thereof engaged with a side surface of a substrate to be cleaned to effect scrub cleaning of the side surface. The peripheral edge cleaning member is adapted to be engaged with a peripheral edge of the substrate to effect scrub cleaning of the peripheral edge. The peripheral edge cleaning member is attached to one of the opposite ends of the cylindrical scrub cleaning body so as to be rotated along with the cylindrical scrub cleaning body about the axis of the cylindrical scrub cleaning body. The peripheral edge cleaning member comprises a sponge member adapted to be engaged with and scrub the peripheral edge of the substrate. The cylindrical scrub cleaning body may also be made of a sponge member and integrally formed with the sponge member comprising the peripheral edge cleaning member. The peripheral cleaning member may comprise a plurality of bristles instead of the cylindrical sponge member.

An electric toothbrush having an elongated body having a handle portion, a head portion, and an elongated intermediate portion disposed between the handle portion and the head portion. The head portion includes a static bristle portion and a moving bristle portion. The static bristle portion and the moving bristle portion are disposed along a common longitudinal axis relative to the head portion. The head portion and intermediate portion are dimensioned for disposition in a human user's mouth for brushing of teeth. A motor is disposed in the handle portion and operatively connected to the moving bristles for moving the moving bristles.

A multifunction apparatus for engaging a surface is particularly suited for removal of snow and ice from the windshields and hoods of vehicles. The apparatus includes a support frame having two pulleys and a handle for manipulating the apparatus. An endless belt is entrained on the pulleys for movement along a continuous path. A bi-directional electrical motor is mounted on the frame and has forward and reverse modes for driving the endless belt along the continuous path. A plurality of surface engaging device assemblies having a first end connected to the endless belt and a second end extending outward from the endless belt provide for the multifunction operational modes. More specifically, each surface engaging device assembly includes first and second heads such as a scraper for removing ice and a brush for removing snow. A trip mechanism carried on the support frame cooperates with the electric motor to switch the location of the heads at the outer periphery of the endless belt to selectively cause the first head to engage the surface or alternatively the second head to engage the surface.

A toothbrush includes a handle configured to accommodate an electric power source, a head carrying a brush, and a neck between the handle and the head. The head or neck includes a mechanical motorized vibratory device, which causes the head to vibrate. Electrical connections are operably connected to the mechanical vibratory device and the electric power source to power the mechanical vibratory device via the electrical connections. In various embodiments, a switch may be operably connected to at least one of the electrical connections to interrupt power from the power source to the mechanical motorized vibratory device. In various embodiments, a vibration-damming structure dampens vibration transmission from the head to the handle.

A mechanically-driven toothbrush consists of a handle, which contains a driving motor with a conversion mechanism, and a toothbrush attachment removably connectable to the output shaft of the conversion mechanism. The handle with the conversion mechanism and the drive motor may comprise a standard, commercially produced unit with the output end of the conversion mechanism performing alternating rotary movements. The toothbrush attachment is made in the form of a conventional toothbrush head without any angular transmission. The tail of the head is connected with the output end of the conversion mechanism by a coupling, which has a locking element for engagement with an appropriate connection element on the output end of the conversion mechanism. The connection portion is covered by a protective sleeve that can be removably connected to the front end of the handle. In operation, the user moves the toothbrush up and down in the vertical directions of the teeth. Efficient removal of the plaque from the spaces between the teeth is achieved due to the fact that motions of the bristles imitate motions of a toothpick when the latter is used for poking the plaque from the intertooth spaces.

The vibrating toothbrush includes a first arm portion with a brushhead mounted at a free end and a second arm portion joined by a hinge-like portion. The first and second arm portions have first and second natural resonant frequencies. A spring member connects the second arm portion to the first arm portion, and a solenoid actuator is also connected between the first and second arm portions. A contact switch assembly is responsive to a DC battery voltage such that when the switch is closed, the first arm portion is drawn in one direction by the actuator, which results in compression of the spring and opening of the switch, with the compressed spring moving the first arm portion in the opposing direction until the switch again closes, so that the brushhead moves back and forth with the opening and closing of the switch. A pressure feedback arrangement makes use of the spring element and a nodal mount which extends from the spring at a selected point therealong to the handle of the toothbrush. The first and second natural resonant frequencies are selected such that when the brushhead is loaded with a selected amount of pressure, there is substantially no vibration transmitted to the handle.
