摘要： A foldout bed having two frames is described. Two frames are hingeably coupled with each other at a pivot point, by which the two frames are transitionable between a coplanar configuration and a non-coplanar configuration. Two frames are also coupled by a counterbalance mechanism, which couples one frame to a lower member of the other frame such that the counterbalance mechanism does not extend beyond a front-most surface of the other frame. The foldout bed also has two panels, each of which couples with one of the two frames, respectively. The distance between two panels forms a gap that is sized and dimensioned to allow the two frames to transition between the coplanar and non-coplanar configuration without encumbrance. The gap is covered by a gap cover.

摘要： Retractable beds exist and work on a myriad of mechanisms for enabling bed and mattresses to be retracted and deployed. However, structural deficiencies together with the weight of the mattress have contributed to deficiencies and damage to these retractable beds. An embodiment of the invention herein describes a positioning assembly comprising a platform structure supported by a support structure. The platform structure supports a mattress which is retractable towards the support structure. The positioning assembly further comprises a leg structure configured for being displaceable for supporting the platform structure in cooperation with the support structure when deployed. The leg structure further linked to the support structure for retraction thereof when the platform structure is retracted. The platform assembly further comprises linkages for controlling positioning of the leg structure and at least one guide structure for guiding movement of at least one of the linkages.

At least one of the wall modules includes a recessed, extendable piece of furniture, such as a bed, desk, table, work surface or chair. When in a closed configuration, the furniture folds into or otherwise resides within a recessed pocket in the modular wall. When in the closed configuration, the outer surface of the furniture forms an exterior surface of the wall module; thereby, concealing the furniture seamlessly into the modular wall. The exterior surface can comprise one or more exterior interchangeable tiles.

摘要： A spring counterbalanced folding wall bed having a vertically disposed shell including side walls spaced from each other and a bed frame pivotally mounted to the shell for movement between an open position and a closed position. In the open position the bed frame is substantially horizontal; in the closed position the bed frame is substantially vertical and between the side walls. A spring is mounted between a head end of the bed frame and one of the side walls and is biased to retain the bed in the closed position. One end of the spring is secured to the head end by a first pivotal connection and the other end of the spring is secured to the side wall by a second pivotal connection. At least one of the first and second pivotal connections are movable so that the length of the spring can be adjusted, whereby the spring force can be adjusted.

摘要： A folding furniture apparatus for selectively and alternatively moving a pivotally connected furniture component between a substantially horizontal usable position and a substantially vertical storage position includes a counterbalancing piston assembly and associated mounting hardware that can provide one of a selected value of torques, counterbalancing the weight of furniture component. At least one counterbalancing piston extends between an upper mounting bracket secured to a support assembly and a lower bracket secured to the furniture component, each of these brackets having a plurality of corresponding mounting points. A counterbalancing piston is pivotally secured to and extends from a selected mounting point on the lower bracket to an associated mounting point on the upper bracket. The lower amounting points and associated upper mounting points are preselected to provide the necessary counterbalancing (torque) for a certain weight of the furniture component without requiring the use of a different piston or relocation of the mounting hardware.

A waste chute is formed in the base or support platform of the diaper changing station and cooperates with a waste receptacle proximate the station for receiving used diapers and other related waste. Accessory hooks on the platform are configured to receive and hold diaper changing supplies, such as a diaper bag. An alternative embodiment of the diaper changing station utilizes a platform having nested sections which telescope to increase the effective depth of the platform.

摘要： A cabinet having a retractable bed formed from the two major components of a bed frame and a cabinet having a chamber therein for pivotally receiving the bed frame. The structure for pivotally mounting the bed frame is a pair of coiled torsion springs. These springs are mounted on a rod member whose opposite ends are secured to the side walls of the cabinet frame. The coiled torsion springs have a laterally extending leg member that is detachably captured by structure in the bed frame. These coiled torsion springs also have a second leg member and it is secured to structure for preventing the rotation of that end of the coiled torsion spring about the rod member. A vertically oriented headboard and a vertically oriented footboard each have one of their vertical edges pivotally hinged to the front edge of the side walls of the cabinet frame. In their closed position they appear as part of the front face of the cabinet, but when pivoted outwardly they function as the headboard and footboard respectively of the bed. Retractable legs are mounted on the bottom of the bed frame. A shelf assembly may be located above the top wall of the cabinet frame.
