摘要： A self-retractable step for assisting a user in elevating him or herself above a floor, is disclosed. The self-retractable step comprises a self-retractable foot member and a cylindrical assembly coupled with the self-retractable foot member. The foot member is configured to move from one position to another position. The cylindrical assembly comprises a rotary member, one or more spring members and a protuberance member. The rotary member is configured to move the foot member to a predetermined position. Further, the spring members coupled to the rotary member is configured to self-retract the foot member from the predetermined position. The protuberance member disposed at the cylindrical assembly is configured to act as a stopper to hold the foot member in a predetermined position on retraction by the spring members. The self-retractable step further comprises a load bearing member at a base of the foot member.

摘要： A portable, compact folding furniture piece (10) constructed as a seat or table is configured for convenient storage. The folding furniture piece comprises an object support assembly (24) that is configured for operative connection to a mounting structure (12) and includes a spring mechanism (40, 42) securing together as a flexible unit a support mount (36), an articulated vertebral column (26), and a support base (38). The spring mechanism exhibits flexibility properties such that the object support assembly assumes at rest an unfolded state and, in response to an externally applied bending force, assumes a folded state. In the unfolded state, the vertebral column is substantially straight to provide a closed support surface (44). In the folded state, the vertebral column is curved to provide a raised, open support surface on which an object can rest. Depending on the embodiment of the furniture piece, the object can be a person or thing.

摘要： The wall seat is a box unit that fits between conventional wall stud framing with no legs or hinges. The seat mounts inside a wall. To operate, pull on seat knob, lower to a perpendicular position and slide under the seat stop. This is accomplished because the 2 vertical slides of the box have an L shaped dado at the bottom. These coincide with protruding dowels at the bottom of the seat enabling the seat to slide freely in the dado. The ⅝″ radius on the bottom of the seat allows it to swing in an upward and downward motion without being obstructed. When the seat is in the perpendicular position and slid under the seat stop the position remains the same with a load of 210 lbs. The condo wall seat can be used anywhere space is limited and seating is needed with an attractive wood framed cabinet appearance.

The seatback is rotatably associated with the cantilevered seatbase by the improved dump locking mechanism, whereby the improved dump locking mechanism enables the seat to remain in the deployed position when inertial forces are placed on the seatback.

A track mechanism and a plurality of rotatable elongate linkages can be provided for guiding movement of the combination seat back frame and roll bar between the retracted and extended positions. The track mechanism can include a guide track having an L-shaped configuration with an upper horizontally extending segment and a lower vertically extending segment.

A panel (70) is operatively coupled to the riser mechanism (20) for movement with the seat assembly between the seating position, wherein the panel (70) conceals the recess (6) in the floor, and said stowed position, wherein the panel is disposed within the recess to provide access thereto allowing the seat assembly to be stowed in the recess.
