摘要: The invention concerns a device (1) for the inhalation of at least one drug from a gas canister (98) having a nozzle (96) by a person suffering from asthma or bronchospasm, the device comprising a gas container (10) having at least one wall (12), the wall surrounding a gas containment chamber (14) adapted to contain gas at a pressure larger than atmospheric pressure, the gas container (10) further having an inlet (16) adapted for connection to the nozzle (96) of the gas canister (98), the gas container (10) further having an outlet (18) with an outlet valve (20) adapted to allow the person to inhale gas from the device through the outlet; wherein the outlet valve (20) is adapted to be activated by the inhalation of the person independent of the activation of the gas canister (98). This invention allows the person to activate the gas canister, and pause before inhalation. The invention is adapted to facilitate coordination for the patient inhaling.

摘要: A nasal mask for use with a system for supplying air with a therapeutic gas to the airways of a patient includes a mask shell which is adapted to be put over the nose of the patient using the nasal mask; an air inlet port through which air is supplied from an air source; an exhaust port, provided in the mask shell, for discharging the exhalation gas to atmosphere; and a therapeutic gas inlet port, provided on the mask shell adjacent to the exhaust port. The therapeutic gas port is fluidly connected to a therapeutic gas source which supplies a therapeutic gas at a constant flow rate. The therapeutic gas port is oriented toward a portion of the inside volume of the nasal mask over the nose of the face of the patient using the nasal mask.

摘要: A process, system and apparatus for changing the concentration in an anesthesia apparatus with a fresh gas metering unit (14) and a pressure sensor (17) in the breathing circuit, with a volume displacement device (1) in the inspiration branch and a PEEP/PMAX valve (7) in the expiration branch. The fresh gas metering unit (14), the pressure sensor (17), the volume displacement unit (1) and the PEEP/PMAX valve (7) are connected to an evaluating and control unit (15). To bring about a rapid change in the concentration of the anesthetic or fresh gas supplied in the breathing circuit without additional design effort on the anesthesia apparatus the volume displacement device (1) is rinsed, either under the control of the fresh gas supply or under the control of the speed at which the volume displacement device (1) is returned. The rinsing takes place simultaneously with the regular respiration operation of the anesthesia apparatus, which may take place in a volume-controlled or pressure-controlled manner.
