摘要: A multi-sensual immersive system includes a face mask configured to cover a mouth and/or a nose of a patient and having an inlet configured to receive inhalational anesthetic. At least one breathing sensor is in fluid communication with the face mask and is configured to detect breathing of the patient. The system further includes a display and a computing device comprising. The computing device includes a processor and memory having instructions that, when executed, provide a game to a patient that is designed to manage the patient's breathing, facilitate a smooth induction of inhalational anesthesia, and reduce the patient's anxiety. The patient's breathing patterns can manipulate the game.

摘要: A dual passageway breathing device is described. Embodiments of the dual passageway breathing device can be implemented with a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) mask. The dual passageway breathing device can allow a simulated rescuer and a simulated victim to use the CPR mask. For instance, the dual passageway breathing device can allow the simulated rescuer to practice exhaling into the mask without the simulated victim having to interface with the breaths. The dual passageway breathing device can also allow the simulated victim to breathe via the device while wearing the mask.

摘要: A vent system for use during respiratory therapy with a flow of pressurized gas may provide a continuous vent flow of gas. The vent system may include a vent housing having an outer wall; an inner wall, the inner wall defining an inlet for the flow of gas; and a base positioned between the outer wall and the inner wall, the base having at least one first orifice and at least one second orifice. The vent system may include a membrane, the membrane being shaped and dimensioned such that the membrane does not cover the at least one first orifice to allow the vent flow through the at least one first orifice, and the membrane being shaped and dimensioned such that in a first position the membrane is positioned over the at least one second orifice to allow the vent flow through the at least one second orifice.

摘要: A humidifier is for an airway pressure support system for delivering a humidified flow of breathing gas to an airway of a patient. The humidifier includes a water chamber, a filter, a filtration meter, a conduit, a nozzle, and a heater plate. The filter has a housing structured to house a filtration medium therein and having an inlet fluidly connected with the water chamber and an outlet. The filtration meter includes an inlet fluidly connected to the outlet of the filter, an outlet, a body portion extending between the inlet and the outlet which is structured to convey water from the inlet of the filtration meter to the outlet of the filtration meter, and a mechanism located in the body portion which is structured to measure filtration data of the water conveyed through the body portion.

摘要: A liquid dispenser for discharging cosmetic or pharmaceutical liquids, in particular in the form of an inhaler. This liquid dispenser includes a switchable valve mechanism, a base, and a discharge head which, for actuation of the valve mechanism, is movable with respect to the base in a superposed axial and rotational movement or in a rotational movement between an opening position, in which the valve mechanism is opened, and a closure position, in which the valve mechanism is closed. It is proposed that, in a delivery state of the liquid dispenser, a rotational movement of the discharge head with respect to the base is blocked by a tamper-evident portion that is separable from the dispenser.

摘要: An electrically conductive plastic (ECP) material can be used to heat water in a reservoir of a respiratory humidifier to encourage heating and/or humidification of gases passing through the respiratory humidifier. The electrically conductive plastic material can at least in part overmould the base and/or walls of the chamber and/or the reservoir of the respiratory humidifier. The reservoir can also partially or fully be formed from the electrically conductive plastic material. Furthermore, the humidification system can be configured to create substantially equal or differential heating of water in the reservoir.

摘要: A device is provided for controlling the nitric oxide levels within the lungs of a subject. The device comprises a detector for detecting the respiration cycle of the subject and a stimulator for applying an acoustic or vibratory stimulus to the subject. The stimulator is controlled in dependence on the detected respiration cycle. In particular, acoustic stimulation may be provided at the onset of inspiration. In this way, the nitric oxide flow can be controlled in a way to ensure that the paranasal nitric oxide is nearly fully inspired. This provides a higher nitric oxide concentration in the lung/alveoli.
