摘要： An air flow and filtration control system in the form of a headgear which is worn by a physician during a surgical procedure, a technician during an assembly process, or any other user wherein controlled air flow and air filtration is required or desired. The system includes a lightweight headgear structure which substantially surrounds the upper portion of the head of the wearer. A fan is mounted in the headgear structure and is positioned to move air relative to the headgear structure. A shroud (or hood) can be draped over and attached to the headgear structure in such a fashion as to completely cover the headgear structure and to cover at least a portion of the wearer in order to maintain sterile or controlled environmental conditions relative to the wearer. Typically, the shroud may include at least one filtration area (which may comprise the entire shroud) and a screen at the front of the apparatus for viewing therethrough. A suitable power supply, such a battery pack or the like, is used to selectively power the fan. An air flow monitoring system is mounted on the helmet. An air flow indicator and/or a battery level indicator is also mounted to the helmet in a location readily detectable by the helmet wearer.

摘要： A respiratory protective hood having an integrated, externally adjustable noseclip for occluding the nose to obstruct nasal respiration. An air-impermeable hood adapted to enclose the head of a wearer is provided. The hood has a nasal region, an ocular region and an oral region. A substantially transparent visor is sealingly integrated into the ocular region of the air-impermeable hood and adapted to permit outward vision by the wearer. A noseclip adapted to compress a wearer's nostrils together is provided thereby substantially inhibiting nasal respiration. An actuator for engaging and disengaging the noseclip from the wearer's nostrils is positioned external to a nasal access passage cut from the air-impermeable hood in the nasal region. An elastomeric air-impermeable boot securely fitted to the actuator means air-impermeably seals the nasal access passage whereby the wearer engages and disengages the noseclip to the wearer's nostrils by manipulation of the actuator.

摘要： An oxygen head tent which is placeable over an individuals head for providing a gas, preferably oxygen, is described. The oxygen head tent has a hood portion which is connected to a hood ring. The hood ring slides over a two-piece neck ring, the two-piece neck ring consisting of an upper neck ring and a lower neck ring retained in adjacent relationship. The hood ring slides over the two-piece neck ring and forms a sealing relationship therewith. The two-piece neck ring has a neck seal retained therein and has a sealing ring on the outer periphery thereof for engagement with the working surface of the hood ring. Ports may be provided for directing a flow of a gas into and from the interior portion of the hood where the individuals head is located. The neck seal provides an adequate seal between the neck ring and the individuals neck such that a pressurized environment may be created in the hood. The two-piece neck ring may also have a retaining ring for holding the neck seal in place after the upper and lower neck rings are retained together.

摘要： The invention is directed to an emergency hood to be worn by a person in an environment where there is fire or contamination. The hood closes off the head of the person to the ambient and has an elastic, gas-impermeable ruff extending down to the neck and shoulder region of the wearer. The hood has an interior space for accommodating the head of the wearer and is made of a fire resistant gas-impermeable material and has a transparent visor in the region of the eyes or face of the person and the visor likewise is made of fire resistant, gas-impermeable material. An oxygen supply unit supplies oxygen to the hood for use by the person and a water and carbon dioxide absorbing flexible areal absorber unit is mounted in the interior space. The absorber unit has an ejector connected to the oxygen supply unit for discharging the oxygen into the interior space and for moving the respiratory air of the wearer out of the interior space and through the absorber unit whereby respiratory air again enters the interior space with water and carbon dioxide removed therefrom.
