摘要： A kitchen range has a compartment containing a flame-retardant blanket disposed immediately below the heating elements. In one embodiment of the invention, an access opening to the compartment at the front of the range is normally covered by a hinged door. One end of the blanket is releasably secured to the interior of the hinged door. In the event of a fire occurring on one of the heating elements, the door may be opened to expose the blanket, which may be readily withdrawn and draped over the fire. Operating handles may be provided on the front end of the blanket to facilitate its withdrawal and manipulation in a manner protecting a user from the flames. In another embodiment of the invention, the compartment may include a pull-out drawer containing the blanket. The door or drawer may also be used to control a switch for cutting off an energy supply to the range when the door or drawer is opened.

摘要： A fire resistant blanket which is tossed or placed over a fire in order to smother the flames comprising a square shaped blanket made of a permanently fire proof material, on the backside of which are attached two handles made of the same clothlike material. At strategic points about the perimeter magnets are positioned and secured in pockets of the blanket. The blanket's primary function is to be used to extinguish small household fires such as may arise in the kitchen while cooking. The blanket is designed to allow storage directly on the side of a refrigerator or other metallic surface or on the kitchen wall by draping over a dowel where it will be readily accessible in the event of a kitchen fire. The handles on the back are designed to allow the operator to approach the fire while protecting himself and his hands. The spaced magnets weight the blanket optimally for tossing the blanket onto a fire. Additionally the magnets are placed to allow the optimal benefit of their magnetic effect when placed on the objects which contain the fire, such as pots or the metallic stove surface, and to anchor the blanket in position over the fire which it is to smother.

摘要： An apparatus for liminting the environmental effects of a campfire includes a foldable, fireproof blanket for shielding a ground surface on which the campfire is to be built and a pouch for storing and transporting the blanket in its folded state. In using the apparatus, it is transported to the campfire site, and the blanket is removed, unfolded, and placed over the surface on which the campfire is to be built. After the campfire is extinguished, the remains are removed from the blanket and disposed of in an environmentally satisfactory disposal site. As a result, the ground surface is not marred by the heat or the remains of the campfire.

The body of pliable material may be made of a suitable flame spread barrier material thereby providing a flame spread barrier between the environments.

摘要： A fire activated device which closes off a wall opening through which a plastic pipe or other fusible member extends. The device includes a back plate which is mounted to the wall with an opening in the plate in alignment with the wall opening which receives the pipe. A spring loaded cutting blade is normally held away from the pipe by a fuse plug which melts in the event of a fire. The blade is then released and cuts through the pipe under the influence of the springs. A stop plate holds the blade in position to cover the opening to prevent fire from passing through it to the adjoining room. The springs are shielded from the heat by telescoping tubes which contain them.

摘要： A flame deflecting device for mounting on a building exterior comprises a panel which is attached by hinges at its lower end to extend upwardly along the face of the building between windows at different levels. A releasing device, preferably actuated by flames from the lower window, releases the panel so that is falls to extend substantially horizontally to deflect flames, escaping from the lower window, from the upper window thus retarding the spread of fire while allowing the fire causing the flames from the lower window to rapidly burn out. The releasing device may be a heat destructible fastening element holding the panel against a compression spring on a stud fixed to the wall of the building.

摘要： A flame deflecting device that comprises a fire resistant lamina and a protective casing mountable on a building exterior in rows above windows. Each device has a width greater than the window below. When mounted on a building, the device does not extend vertically by more than three feet (0.9 m).
