摘要: A snow ski assembly is provided for use by an individual to slide across a snow covered surface, for example, under the force of gravity. The assembly includes a ski having a bottom wall for engaging the snow covered surface and an upturned peripheral region extending around a perimeter of the bottom wall. The bottom wall of the ski includes at least one control structure extending across at least a portion of the bottom wall, where the at least one control structure is configured to control a movement of the ski on the snow covered surface. The assembly also includes a mounting feature configured to couple a binding to the bottom wall of the ski, such that the individual can position a foot in the binding and use the ski to slide across the snow covered surface.

摘要: A rotatable sports-board binding adapter mounts to a sports board and allows a user to adjust an angle of one foot relative to the sports board. The adapter includes a base plate forming a series of lock holes and at least one pocket that accommodates a low-friction puck. A rotatable plate connects to the base plate and includes a locking mechanism that can engage with any one of the lock holes to prevent rotation of the rotatable plate. When the low-friction puck is inserted into the pocket, the puck is translatable so that it contacts the rotatable plate, advantageously preventing the rotatable plate and base plate from directly contacting each other while providing a low-friction surface that enables the rotatable plate to easily rotate with respect to the base plate. As the low-friction puck wears, it may be additionally translated, or replaced with a new puck.

摘要: Pivotably adjustable binding mounts including a base plate that mounts upon a substrate. A pivoting plate is disposed upon the base plate, and accepts a binding. A latching mechanism selectively engages the pivoting plate, wherein the pivoting plate rotates upon the base plate when the latching mechanism is disengaged. Some aspects of the mount include one or more stops that limit the rotation of the pivoting plate. In still other aspects, the latching mechanism is comprised of a spring-actuated lever that can be disengaged by the user, but will lock the pivoting plate in place when rotated to a use position.

摘要: The invention is concerned with a snowboard binding that uniquely addresses two long-standing issues with snowboard bindings: (1) fast hands free entry, and (2) high level of mobility when the user's back foot is unstrapped from the binding. Generally, this application relates to snowboard bindings that enable hands-free entry and a higher level of mobility than is currently available when the user's back foot is unstrapped from the binding. The binding uses three distinct positions to address these issues: (1) the closed position, (2) the skate position, and (3) the open position.

摘要: Various binding systems for sliding boards and skis are presented. In one example, among others, a binding system includes a boot plate assembly affixed to a boot and a mounting plate assembly. The mounting plate assembly can be affixed to a sliding board or a ski. The boot plate assembly includes a socket and a wedge attached to opposite sides of a boot plate. The mounting plate assembly includes a spring mechanism configured to engage the socket and a wedge block configured to receive the wedge. When engaged, pressure from the spring mechanism holds the boot plate assembly to the sliding board or ski. When sufficient force is applied through the boot, the boot plate assembly is released from the mounting plate assembly, which frees the rider from the sliding board or ski.

摘要: A boot attachment system is provided for a split board, wherein the boot attachment provides two alternative attachment configurations. The first configuration provides a ‘ride mode’ in which the rider's boots are attached across the two halves of the split board allowing the joined board halves to be used as a complete snowboard for riding downhill. The second configuration provides a ‘ski mode’ in which the rider's boots are attached one on each half of the split board. This system allows the halves of the board to be used in a similar manner to traditional skis. This system is particularly useful when travelling uphill or on terrain that is insufficiently steep for the board configuration to be useable.
