摘要： A minipleat synthetic filter assembly is provided. The filter assembly includes a frame assembly and a section of pleated filter media mounted within the frame assembly. The frame assembly includes a plurality of corner members and an equal plurality of side members interconnecting the corner members. The frame assembly may be made in any desired size and shape to accommodate a wide variety of applications. The section of filter media is a sheet of a synthetic nonwoven material folded to form minipleats having a spacing between adjacent peaks of no greater than 20 mm.

The filter medium also includes a second pleated portion, which is folded in a second wave shape such that a second amplitude, less than the first amplitude, and a second wave length, shorter than the first wave length, are formed in the second pleated portion. At least one second pleated portion is formed in the first pleated portion.

摘要： An improved air cleaner assembly for large displacement stationary engines provides for an included environmentally friendly disposable filter element containing substantially no chlorine compounds or structural metal supports which upon incineration or landfilling become undesireable chemical compounds. Improved sealing results by creating novel gasket compression control both radially and by a face seal by use of permanent metal components which are not discarded as before. Excessive compression of the gasket material is prevented by structure integral to the air cleaner assembly, and support of the filter element is external within the air cleaner assembly rather than internal within the filter element, thus eliminating the manufacturing cost of metal components previously discarded as integral to the filter element upon replacement of the disposable filter element.

When the semi-molten fibers are extruded to the forming surface, the semi-molten fibers are gathered to upstanding surface portions of the forming surface. Therefore, a sufficient amount of fibers can be layered onto the upstanding surface portions, so that the layering amount of fibers on the upstanding surface portions of the forming surface will not be considerably reduced in comparison with the layering amounts on other portions of the forming surface.
