Abstract: A process is provided for removing viruses and micro-organisms from building air by inactivation of those biological elements within an HVAC filter having exuding halogenated material therein. The filter for the HVAC systems has the exuded halogenated material applied with a tackified material via a sequential spraying operation prior to heat curing either of those materials. The filter can subsequently be formed with other laminated materials for increased efficiency, and pleated for use in the HVAC system. Both porous and non-porous substrate fibers can serve as the substrate web for the exuded halogenated material, preferably processed as a non-woven web during air filter fabrication.

Abstract: Damage is not caused even when oil mist in a gas is trapped, and clogging of a filter paper due to an oil film can be less likely to occur. A filtration member formed by folding a filter paper for trapping oil mist in a gas into a corrugated shape in which mountain folds and valley folds are alternately repeated is provided. The filter paper includes a nanofiber layer formed of polyolefin fibers. In the nanofiber layer, a content of fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.2 μm to 0.4 μm is 3% or more, a content of fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.4 μm to 0.6 μm is 24% or more, a content of fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.6 μm to 0.8 μm is 15% or more, and a content of fibers having a fiber diameter of 0.8 μm to 1.0 μm is 9% or more.

Abstract: An air-cleaning filter includes a non-woven fabric for dust collection and a non-woven fabric for deodorization having activated carbon particles combined therewith. By adjusting the particle diameter and content of the activated carbon particles and laminating with a non-woven fabric coated with an absorber for other gases, a dust collecting function and a deodorizing function can be imparted at the same time while also creating a structure with a low differential pressure.

Abstract: Systems and methods of filtering particulate matter from a fluid are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a system for filtering particulate matter from a liquid comprises a filter having a filter housing, inlet and outlet ports, and compressible filter media with synthetic fibers. Further, the filter media is disposed in the housing between the inlet and outlet ports and is operable to filter particulate matter from the liquid. Also, a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet ports with the filter media disposed in the housing is no more than four pounds per square inch differential. In addition, the system includes a pump that is operationally coupled to the filter and operable to move the liquid through the filter media with a flux rate of at least eighteen gallons per minute per square foot of the filter media while operating at less than one electrical horsepower.

Abstract: An irrigation recirculation system and methods of filtering and cleaning water within the irrigation recirculation system. The system includes an above the ground water source and a fluid flow conduit that conveys the water into a filter element within a basin. The filter element separates solids from the water by causing the water to change direction before continuing on a fluid flow path. The water is then stored and distributed by a self-cleaning storage system that convey the filtered water to sprinkler heads of the irrigation system.

Abstract: According to some aspects, a method is provided of removing debris from a liquid photopolymer in an additive fabrication device. According to some embodiments, a mesh of solid material may be formed in an additive fabrication device from a liquid photopolymer, and particles of debris present in the liquid photopolymer may adhere to the mesh. The debris may thereby be removed from the liquid photopolymer by removing the mesh from the additive fabrication device. The mesh may then be discarded.
