    摘要: A method by which ingots of thixotropic metal alloy are brought to the semisolid or semiliquid state comprises the steps of introducing the single solid ingots at ambient temperature into a heat chamber, generating air currents within the chamber so that the ingots are heated principally by convection, controlling the temperature of the ingots, and removing them from the chamber once a predetermined temperature has registered and been held steady in the metal alloy for a duration sufficient to induce the semisolid or semiliquid state; the ingots are supported and conveyed through a circular path internally of the heat chamber by a set of radial platforms revolving between an infeed zone and an outfeed zone.

A core box is mounted on at least two oppositely arranged faces of the rotating prism-like structure and supports a lower half-mold and associated plates for extracting the finished core; each one of the lower half-molds can be placed in succession, upon rotation of the prism-like structure, at the movable upper half-mold so as to allow, by means of a single upper half-mold, to mold a core in each one of the lower half-molds and to simultaneously extract the previously finished core from the oppositely arranged half-mold.

    摘要: The invention relates to a device for supporting a sidewall of a plant for the continuous twin-roll casting of thin metal products, of the type including two cooled rolls having horizontal axes, and a sidewall applied against the ends of the rolls. The support device further includes a carriage which can be controllably moved in a direction parallel to the axes of the rolls, a thrust device carried by said carriage, and a mounting plate connected to the thrust device and solidly attached to the sidewall. The mounting plate includes at least two pads which can be controllably moved in a direction parallel to the axes of the rolls by devices which can apply each of the pads against an end of one of the rolls.

    摘要: A machine for making molds and molding cores (126) includes a pair of mold boxes (42a, 42b) removably mounted on a frame (60) for rotation between an upright, molding position in which molding mateiral is introduced into the molding cavity of the molding boxes (42a, 42b) by a carrier (26) and an inverted discharge position in which the mold (126) is removed from the boxes by a mold receiving assembly (76). A pressure head assembly (46) both compresses molding material within the molding cavity and introduces a catalyst gas into the cavity for curing the molding material. A system for removing the spent gas from the molding cavity includes a pair of gas receiving chambers (122a, 122b) integral with the frame (60) which receives gas through the bottom of the mold boxes (42a, 42b) and an exhaust assembly (68, 70) which is selectively coupled with exhaust ports (124a, 124b) in the chambers (122a, 122b ). A mold transfer carriage (84) transfer molds (126) discharged from the mold boxes (42a, 42b) to either of two lateral positions and can be employed to automatically change mold boxes (42a, 42b) which are mounted on the frame (60) by quick release connections (62, 64, 134).
