    摘要: To minimize the amount of setting gas to be gasified and to be introduced into a molding sand containing a gas-settable binder, a metered volume of the setting liquid is injected directly into a gassing plate arranged in front of an opening leading to a cavity containing the molding sand. Heat energy is supplied to the gassing plate to effect gasification of the liquid. A superpure gas then is produced and is directed through the molding sand. Consequently, not only is only a small amount of setting liquid required to set the molding sand but only a small amount of compressed air or other non-reactive gas is required for scrubbing to remove the residual superpure gas from the sand. Therefore, cleaning or removal of the gas from the set molding sand can be performed at a low cost.

    摘要: An apparatus for the compression of foundry moulding material by compressed gas, which comprises a pressure tank for the compressed gas forming an inlet pressure zone, a moulding zone positioned beneath the same constituted by a moulding box with filling frame and pattern plate with pattern, onto which the moulding material is loosely poured prior to compression, and a large-area valve arranged between the pressure tank and the moulding zone. The closure member thereof frees the valve opening in the pressure tank in a few milliseconds and moves into the inlet pressure zone. The closure member is driven by a pressure cylinder, whose piston on the lift side forms the moveable termination of a gas-pressurized pressure reservoir and by its opposite side is connected to a high pressure source. The high pressure-side outflow is constructed in such a way that the pressure medium flows out at a speed of more than 10 m/s, accompanied by the simultaneous acceleration of the piston, under the pressure in the pressure reservoir and the closure member into the raised open position.

    摘要: Particulate material, hereinafter called sand, is used in a sand article, such as a mold article, for foundry purposes such as a green sand mold and sand core consisting of sand and a binder and is hardened in a molding box by sucking a catalyst gas from a catalyst gas source through the molding box and the sand article. The molding box is continuously exposed to the action of a reduced pressure source and normally evacuated to the atmosphere. When the pressure has been reduced to a predetermined pressure less than atmospheric pressure, the catalyst gas is briefly supplied to the molding box under slight increase of the absolute pressure, whereupon the molding box is evacuated to the catalyst gas source until the pressure therein is reduced to the predetermined pressure to recycle the unused catalyst gas leaving the molding box to the catalyst gas source.

    摘要: An apparatus to produce a shell-like mold by vacuum sucking molding sand into a shell-like cavity defined by a cope and a drag is disclosed. The apparatus includes a drag and a cope mounted on the drag so that they define a shell-like cavity between them. The drag holds on its upper surface a pattern. The drag has a plurality of sucking apertures at places adjacent to the perimeter of the pattern. The sucking apertures communicate with a vacuum source. The cope has a single molding-sand-supplying bore which communicates with the cavity. To produce a shell-like mold, the molding sand is introduced from the bore into the cavity by means of a vacuum source.
