摘要: The invention relates to an automatic low-pressure diecasting machine, notably for mass-production equipments. The casting takes place through a heat-insulated distribution chamber thermally insulated from the lower portion of the mould structure and delivering the molten metal directly to the mould impression or impressions through a series of substantially vertical feed metal inlet passages formed through the mould bottom. The distribution chamber, of relatively simple design, extends substantially over the entire area of the lower mould impression which requires the presence of such feed metal inlet passages. This machine is intended more particularly for light-alloy castings.

摘要: A casting machine adapted for the manufacture of precision investment castings of the type used in dental applications has a burner arm assembly including a torch and means adapted to sealingly engage and pressurize a mold assembly. The mold assembly is positioned on a support member and is heated by the burner assembly, after which it is raised against the burner assembly. Vacuum is drawn through the support member, and molten metal is caused to flow from the crucible portion into the mold portion of the mold assembly, and by also supplying gas under positive pressure to the crucible portion to facilitate such flow. Control means extinguish the burner assembly and operate the vacuum as well as the produce movement of the support member.

摘要: In the known bottom poured method of casting steel ingots molten metal is poured down a runner system communicating with the bottom of the ingot mould. With the invention the runner system is made pressure tight and a pressurized gas is applied to the top of the upstanding runner of the runner system to displace some of the metal in the runner system into the mould. The mould may be of the bottle top type with a heat conducting plug for making a non-gas tight closure at the top of the mould, and pressurized gas may be applied so that metal in the mould contacts the plug.

摘要: A vehicle wheel is made of cast steel and has a thickness of steel small with respect to its diameter. The steel has a carbon content within the range of 0.16 to 0.70 percent, a manganese content within the range of 0 to 1.60 percent, and a silicon content within the range of 0 to 1.00 percent. The tensile strength of the steel is within the range of 40 kg/mm2 to 80 kg/mm2, and the steel is hardened through about 10 to 20 percent of its thickness. The thickness of the steel is increased in the rim flange as compared to the rim base, and the axially outer wall of the rim flange is inclined with respect to the rim axis. Any shrink marks that may appear in the cast steel are concentrated in the thickened portion of the rim flange.

摘要: A method and apparatus for making dental castings wherein the crucible is supported on a platform having a central opening positioned beneath the crucible opening over the mold cavity of the investment, which, in turn, is supported on a platform having a central opening. The upper platform is lowered against the investment so that a single sealed vessel comprising the crucible and investment cavity is formed. Air is then admitted to the crucible and investment cavity at a point beneath the crucible opening so that both the investment and crucible may be purged, an arc is formed in the crucible thereby melting the casting material, and air under pressure is admitted to the top of a crucible thereby causing the molten casting material to flow into the investment cavity.

摘要: A method of controlling the rate of filling of a casting mold wherein a pressure P.sub.1 is applied to a chamber containing a crucible holding the molten material to be cast, a pressure P.sub.2 is provided in a chamber containing the mold, the mold is connected with the crucible by a tube conveying the molten material to the mold, and the molten material is displaced through the tube by a pressure differential .DELTA.p equal to P.sub.1 -P.sub.2, which comprises detecting the time derivatives dP.sub.2 /dt and d.DELTA.P/dt of the pressure in the chamber containing the mold and the pressure differential, respectively. The rate of variation of the pressure in the chamber of the mold is monitored to regulate the process while one of the other derivatives is compared with a set point value to control one of the pressures as a function of time to vary the rate of filling of the mold in accordance with a predetermined program.

摘要: Method of and apparatus for die casting metal in which the die parts have a well for receiving the molten metal in a body preliminary to closing the die parts and gating channels lead from the well to the mold chambers. One of the die parts has means for injecting a pre-metered volume of water into the body of metal in the well so that after the die parts are closed together and the injecting means are operated to inject the water the rapid conversion of the water into steam and subsequent expansion produce sufficient force to cause the molten metal in the well to be forced into the mold chambers where it is chilled thereby forming the castings.

摘要: A system for the die stamping of a fluid comprises a male die member whichs forced into a die cavity to compress and spread the fluid material therein. A piston in this die member is advanced after the die member is arrested by a shoulder of the female die member to compress gas ahead of this piston and increase the pressure at selected locations along the face of the male member at which cavities are provided to communicate this gas pressure to the fluid.
