摘要： A hollow turning device comprises a tool handle, a cutting bar extending from one end of the tool handle having a longitudinal axis and a cross section at least a portion of which is non-circular, and a cutting tool disposed at a distal end of the cutting bar. A tool rest is disposed adjacent the work piece. A torque arrestor has a pair of spaced apart cooperating rollers between which the cutting bar extends, the cooperating rollers being spaced apart to fittingly receive and restrain the cutting bar to allow motion of the cutting bar between the cooperating rollers to facilitate motion of the cutting tool within the hollow to shape the inside of the work piece, wherein the non-circular portion of the cutting bar cross section prevents vertical movement and rotation of the cutting bar along its longitudinal axis when the cutting tool engages the work piece.

摘要： A lathe for turning a workpiece by means of a headstock and a tailstock includes a lathe bed having an elongate main support structure and bedrails extending along a side of the structure, these rails adjustably supporting the tailstock. Leg supports are provided at opposite ends of the support structure and two pivot connectors each join a respective one of the bed ends to a support leg. The bed can be pivoted about a horizontal axis extending through these pivot connectors between an upright position which can be used when the lathe user is standing and a sideways position which can be used when the user is sitting. In the upright position, the bedrails are on top of the main support structure.

摘要： A cutting tool including a base having a turntable pivotally mounted on the base for movement about a vertical axis, a support member mounted on the turntable, and a saw arm mounted on the support member for pivotal movement about an axis between cutting and non-cutting positions. The saw arm has a saw blade including a lower portion. The saw blade is mounted for rotation about an arbor axis. A lower blade guard is supported on the saw arm for pivotal movement about the arbor axis between a surround position wherein the lower blade guard surrounds the lower portion of the saw blade and a non-surround position wherein the lower portion of the saw blade is exposed for cutting. The cutting tool also includes a cam plate mounted on the saw arm, and a cam follower mounted on the support member such that movement of the saw arm between the non-cutting position and the cutting position causes pivotal movement of the lower blade guard between the surround position and the non-surround position.

摘要： A shaft tapering device having a body block with a transverse borehole through which the shaft to be tapered is introduced. A recess in the top of the body block intersects the borehole, forming an aperture into which a cutting blade extends substantially tangential to the curvature of the borehole. A cradle attached to the body block includes a pair of parallel wing-like members spaced apart by spreaders at each end of the wings, which are pivotably mounted to the body block. Each wing has a notch formed in the upper edge thereof that is semicircular in the deepest part and on pivoting the wings the deepest part of the notches can be substantially aligned with the borehole. On holding a handle attached to the body block, pivoting the wings during rotation of a workpiece, and moving the device laterally, the work piece is quickly and controllably tapered, the notches in the wings of the cradle bringing the work piece to the cutting blade with the work piece substantially centered under the cutting edge at all times. A portable kit combines the tapering device with a guide frame having a longitudinal way joining a head stock with a tail stock, and with a tapering template extending between the two. A template follower attached to the forward spreader of the cradle rides on the template and automatically pivots the cradle as the device is slid along the way as the work piece is rotated by a drill motor mounted on the head stock.
