    摘要： An improved packaging apparatus and method in which individual contoured articles are wrapped in a heat shrinkable film and the film is then cut and sealed along the contour of each article prior to being shrunk tightly about each article in a separate heat shrink tunnel. At least one profiling sealing means is reciprocated at a predetermined rate transverse to the flow of the film and articles contained therein. In one embodiment, one profiling sealing means seals one edge of the film about the article along a contour. In other embodiments, two profiling sealing means seal both edges of the film along either mirror image contours or two dissimilar contours.

    摘要： A plurality of cutting members are individually and detachably mounted on a rotatable drum and arranged in spaced and staggered helical rows. Each cutting member is a separate blade having multiple cutting edges and an indexing block. A seating block engaging the indexing block indexes the cutting blade with the proper projection to engage the work as the drum is rotated. The seating block also indexes the cutting edge to make a linear ''''plane'''' on the work surface and permits blade sharpening to be done by a cutting tool operable in a direction parallel to the drum axis. A pin projects from the seating block into a precisely located index hole to control the height of projection of the blade. The pressure lock for the blade acts directly on the blade. The cutting member and indexing block are permanently attached by offsetting a portion of the block into an opening in the blade.

In so doing, it also serves to automatically index and position each of the cutting edges as each new edge is positioned for use.
