摘要： A method and apparatus for controlling or regulating a folder of a printing press is disclosed. Setpoint fold values are generated on the basis of prepress stage data and printed copies are measured in the folded and/or partially folded state in order to determine actual fold values. The actual fold values which are determined in the process are compared with the corresponding setpoint fold values and, as a function of this comparison, the folder is set automatically in such a way that the actual fold values correspond to or are approximated to the setpoint fold values in subsequent printed copies.

摘要： A machine for making envelopes and the like includes apparatus for folding both a top closure flap and a second latex fold flap in the bottom flap portion of the envelope blank. A feed roll feeds the envelope blank with the closure flap trailing onto a closure flap cylinder. The body of the envelope blank is conveyed along the surface of a folding cylinder onto support slats until the envelope blank front edge engages a stop member. The closure flap is engaged by vacuum on the closure flap cylinder and the latex fold flap is engaged by a second flap cylinder. A cam actuated tucker engages the bottom flap adjacent the score line for the latex fold flap and urges the envelope blank downwardly on the support slats. The rotating folding cylinder engages the body portion of the envelope blank and conveys the envelope blank toward a delivery device. Both the closure flap and the latex fold flap are engaged by the respective closure flap cylinders and are folded along the score lines by rotation of the respective flap cylinders in a direction opposite to the folding cylinder. Both of the flaps are creased along the fold line by the closure flap cylinder. The envelope blank is then transferred from the folding cylinder to a suitable spiral delivery.

摘要： The outer surface of the body of a fiber can is scored by cutting through a portion of its thickness from the outside thereof with a cutting blade affixed to the lower end of a seaming roll which simultaneously crimps the lid to the body wall of the can. The cutting blade is circular in configuration and is positioned to rotate on a center which is offset laterally with relation to the center shaft of the seaming roll. The distance that the rotation axis of the cutting blade is offset can be selectively changed to precisely control the cutting depth.

摘要： A method and device for producing boxes from paper or cardboard is provided. The boxes include a cut-out shape in the form of the bottom or the lid, with a lateral wall stuck thereto. The lateral wall is formed from a strip having a beginning, an end, and connection tongues are bent by up to 90° C. Then, the beginning of the strip is applied and fixed to the lateral surface of a cylindrical female mold having a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section of the box, by means of a male mold. Then, the female mold is turned. The strip is sucked onto the lateral surface and held in place by means of a vacuum. After an adhesive has been applied to the beginning or end of the strip, the beginning and end of the strip are stuck together. Then, a cut-out shape in the form of the bottom or the lid, which has previously had adhesive applied to the periphery thereof, is pressed onto the connection tongues. Once the adhesive has hardened and the vacuum has been stopped, the finished box can be removed from the female mold.

As the tissues are withdrawn from the carton and the weight of the tissue stack is reduced, the flattened arch-shaped sheet gradually assumes its normal arched shape, thereby raising the stack of tissues within the carton. Raising the stack substantially reduces or eliminates “fall-back”, which is a common dispensing problem, as the stack height is reduced.
