摘要： An apparatus is used to form a container from a blank which has innermost fold lines that confine a closed bottom of the container, and outer fold lines that extend outwardly from four corners of the bottom. The apparatus includes a blank forming device which defines a forming passage of polygonal cross-section and having four corners. A blank feeding device is adapted to feed the blank towards the blank forming device in a first direction substantially parallel to the cross-section of the forming passage. A punching mechanism has a punch head of polygonal cross-section and capable of passing through the forming passage in a second direction transverse to the first direction. The punch head has a forward end formed with a polygonal push pad for pushing the blank through the forming passage. The blank forming device has a pair of first folding parts and a pair of second folding parts which confine the forming passage and which are adapted to fold the blank about the innermost fold lines when the punch head pushes the blank through the forming passage in the second direction. The first and second folding parts are spaced apart from each other adjacent to the corners of the forming passage.

摘要： The mold that belongs to a cardboard box forming machine is comprised of four forming corners, equal to each other, assembled in such a way that they can be moved longitudinally and transversally in order to carry out the adjustment of length as well as width of the boxes to be formed. The adjustment of length is achieved as a result of the corners being assembled on bushings threaded on spindles, each one of the latter having two sections threaded in a different direction so that the rotation of the former involves contrary movement of each pair of forming corners assembled on each spindle. The adjustment of width is achieved on the grounds of movement of said forming corners along linear guides upon which corresponding bridges slide. Forming corners are also completed with means retaining the box during its formation and pressing means for gluing of the corresponding laps.

摘要： A can-like container and a method for manufacturing such a container which provides a strong structure, tight gas barrier, and no effect upon the taste of food stored in the container. The body of the container is fabricated with a multi-layer sheet composed of a metal foil layer having a thickness of no more than 40 .mu.m and a hot-melt resin layer formed on one or both sides of the metal foil layer. The margin portions of the multi-layer material of the container body in corners thereof are either folded into two tucks at each corner or formed into vertical wrinkles upon molding the container body. A cover is joined to the container body, which cover is also composed of a metal foil layer and at least hot-melt resin layer.

A multi-sectioned corner flap is folded progressively between an outer guide in the form of a longitudinal row of rollers and a spiraling row of conical rollers that accurately pinches a bent corner edge of the corner flap structure against the end panel to which it is joined in the carton blank. Surface-to-surface contact between the glued portions of the corner flap and the end panel is prevented until the folding action has been accurately completed.

摘要： Precut and prescored tray blanks are stacked in a magazine, and pivoted vacuum cup means is adapted to withdraw the lowermost blank from the stack by moving the blank downwardly to a delivery position. Control means is provided for operation of the vacuum cup to move it from and to its pick-up position in engagement with the lowermost blank in the stack, the vacuum cup being vented to atmosphere when it reaches the delivery position. A continuously driven roller is adapted to receive the leading edge of the blank in this delivery position and a back-up roller swings on the axis of the driven roller so as to pinch the blank therebetween and to feed it downstream against a stop. Side guides loosely receive the edges of the blank as it moves against the stop, and inturned end portions of these side guides actually deform the side edges of the blank to hold it into position against the stop where it is engaged by mechanism associated with the tray forming apparatus.

摘要： Individual precut and prescored tray blanks are withdrawn from a stack and fed to an infeed station of the machine, each blank being provided with adhesive while enroute to said infeed station, and each blank being oriented with its end flaps in radially spaced relationship with respect to the axis of rotation of a mandrel which moves upwardly from beneath the blank to engage it at the infeed station and move it upwardly against four fixed corner tab deflecting plows. The inner radial edge of the blank is engaged by a pair of pivotally mounted fingers which fold the inner end flap through 90* as the blank is moved downstream by the mandrel. Projecting portions of these fingers also fold the corner tabs through 90* with respect to the inner end flap, while a pair of resilient leaf spring elements fold the outer end flap at substantially the same time. The outer pair of corner tabs are folded solely by the above mentioned fixed corner tab engaging plows. A pair of opposed side walls have upstream edges for supporting these flap folding elements, and also for supporting fixed side flap folding members so arranged as to engage the side flaps of the blank as it travels between the axially spaced side walls. The continuously moving mandrel then carries the folded tray through substantially 180* of its rotation to set the adhesive prior to arrival at a discharge station, where an eject cylinder carried within the mandrel, punches the tray downwardly so that it drops downwardly onto a take-away conveyor.
