Abstract:
Large scale field erected air cooled industrial steam condenser having 10 heat exchanger bundles per cell arranged in five pairs in a V-shape, each heat exchanger bundle having four primary heat exchangers and four secondary heat exchangers in which each secondary heat exchanger is paired with a single primary heat exchanger. Four primary condensers are arranged such that the tubes are horizontal, while the inlet steam manifolds at one end of the tubes are perpendicular to the primary condenser tubes, i.e., parallel to the transverse axis of the bundle. Steam enters the small inlet steam manifolds from below. Cross-sectional dimensions of the tubes are 200 mm wide with a cross-section height of less than 10 mm with fins that are 10 mm in height, arranged at 9 to 12 fins per inch.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of manufacturing, by a continuous casting process, aluminum alloy strip for use in the production of supports for lithographic printing plates, comprising the step of passing an aluminum melt successively through a filtering means, a launder connected to the filtering means, a liquid level controlling means connected to the launder, and a melt feed nozzle connected to the liquid level controlling means, wherein the aluminum melt is obtained by melting an aluminum starting material, then adding to and melting in the molten aluminum starting material a titanium and boron-containing aluminum alloy, and the time t in seconds required for the aluminum melt to pass through the launder satisfies the following condition (1): t≧270×1.2×D , (1) where D is the depth in meters of the melt in the launder. The method is able to prevent the formation of black streaks even when casting is carried out for an extended period of time.
Abstract:
A shapeable matrix is provided for use in making of graphic art reproductions and in particular as a mold in forming of printing plates and other marking items.
Abstract:
In the processing of a corrosive liquid mixture, such as 50 to 80% aqueous sulfuric acid, by its passage over one surface of a wall of inert heat resistant material, and heating the other surface of said wall, thereby to evaporate from said corrosive liquid mixture the more volatile component thereof, the improvement which comprises heating said wall by contact with an inert liquid material, and heating said inert liquid material indirectly through heat exchange with a normally solid molten material. Desirably the wall of inert material is a pipe surrounded by a molten metal in a first annular jacket and a molten salt in a second annular jacket.
Abstract:
A printing plate matrix and a process for making it where a fibrous base material is impregnated with a heat-cured resin and a thin thermoplastic film is bonded to one face of the base. The exposed face of the film has a metallic coating on it and bears an intaglio reproduction of the face of a printing form.
