    摘要: A sulfuric acid recirculation loop and a standalone sulfuric acid concentrator including: a concentrator column, an air lift pump having a liquid inlet fed with concentrated sulfuric acid from the outlet of a sulfuric acid reservoir downstream the concentrator column, a gas inlet fed with a carrier fluid having a lower density than the concentrated sulfuric acid, and an outlet, wherein the sulfuric acid reservoir is located below the concentrator column and above the carrier fluid inlet of the air lift pump, a downcomer pipe leading down from the sulfuric acid reservoir to the liquid inlet of the air lift pump, and a riser pipe leading up from the carrier fluid inlet on the air lift pump to an inlet pipe for the concentrator column, the inlet pipe being configured for allowing a liquid flow from the inlet to the outlet.

    摘要: Dilute waste sulfuric acid is concentrated by heating it against product acid and then passing it through two contact zones separated by a collection zone. The dilute acid scrubs vapour produced in the collection zone and from a high temperature acid reboiler. In the collection zone acid is drawn off, heated, and recirculated to the collection zone where part of the liquid flashes to vapour. The main heat input is to the more dilute low temperature recirculating acid from the first contact zone rather than to the more concentrated high temperature acid in the reboiler. As a result, less sulfuric acid vapour is generated; the major portion of the heat can be fed to the process at low temperature; and only a single column is required, having a single cool clear water vapour exit stream to dispose of.

    摘要: The invention relates to a process for the purification of fluoride-containing 65 to 95% strength waste sulfuric acid which contains water, organic impurities and fluoride. The impure sulfuric acid is introduced onto the top tray of a stripping column, in which this waste acid is heated and pre-concentrated. The heated acid then flows into a heating tank filled with boiling concentrated sulfuric acid. The sulfuric acid vapors escaping from this heating tank are condensed in the stripping column by the waste sulfuric acid flowing in counter-current. According to the invention, at least in the region of one tray of the stripping column, construction components which come into contact with acid vapors or liquid acid consist of acid-resistant plastic, at least on the surface.

    摘要: A method is provided for directly heating a concentrated sulphuric-acid solution by passing alternating electric current between surface-passivated electrodes immersed in the solution and by using electrodes of iron or an iron alloy having a low resistance iron or iron alloy inner core covered by an outer high resistance passivating surface layer which are so surface-passivated that the transition resistance between the electrodes and the concentrated sulphuric-acid solution is at least as great as the resistance exerted by the concentrated sulphuric-acid solution.
