摘要:
A method for producing a security document having printed image 1 produced by steel intaglio printing and embossed microstructures 2 of an order of magnitude of less than 100 microns is carried out by one printing plate 8 on which both the steel intaglio structures and the microstructures are present. The parts of the microstructures closest to printing plate surface 9 are located 20 to 100 microns below the printing plate surface so that they are not touched and destroyed by the wiping cylinder. Alternative methods for producing a steel intaglio printing plate with integrated microstructures are provided. The microstructures can be used for embossing a diffractive relief or a blind embossing.

The invention relates to a method for producing an edge profile for a narrow surface of a plate-shaped material, wherein an edge band extending in a longitudinal direction has a decoration, and wherein the edge band has a three-dimensional structure. In order to further improve a furniture part with regard to optical and haptic properties, the decoration and the structure according to the invention are arranged in such a way that the structure is at least substantially congruent with the decoration. The invention further relates to a corresponding furniture part having a plate-shaped material, which has at least one narrow surface, an upper part, and a lower part, and at least one edge profile.

A two-web, dual purpose printing press and method is provided which can be used to "make ready" and proof gravure rollers on a first web, and to print a sample using the rollers on a second web and under substantially identical conditions during both operational modes. The press includes an interchangeable gravure roller, a pair of impression rollers, (one associated with each of the webs), and structure for selective shifting of the impression rollers between positions wherein each roller alternately forms a web-receiving and printing nip with the gravure roller. A motion-limiting stop arrangement is provided to insure that the respective impression rollers assume a substantially identical position relative to the gravure roller during the respective operational sequences of the press; in this manner printing conditions are uniform during both proofing and sampling.
