    摘要： A process for making patterned cigarette wrapper includes the steps of: preparing a printing solution including the steps of: mixing at least water and a starch to form a starch mixture, heating the starch mixture to a temperature of at least about 180° F. preferably for at least about 30 minutes to release amylopectin and amylose, adding propylene glycol to the starch mixture, and mixing the starch mixture and propylene glycol to form a printing solution, wherein the solution is maintained and applied at elevated temperature (120° F. to 150° F.). The process also includes providing a base web of wrapper and applying the printing solution to the wrapper in a predetermined pattern.

    摘要： A printed film for containers of this invention includes a transparent film ink-jet images formed thereon by an ink-jet printing and other-printing images formed by a printing system other than the ink-jet printing, the ink-jet images being formed between a top coating and an underlying layer, and the other-printing images being formed between the underlying layer and an adhesive layer enabling variable images to be ink-jet printed thereon in combination making it, therefore, possible to cope with the designs for many kinds of products in small lots that could not be done by only the printing system such as gravure printing other than the ink-jet printing, the printed images excellently reproducing image densities that could not be attained by the ink-jet printing only. The invention, further, provides a method of producing a printed film maintaining good productivity.

    摘要： A gravure printing system is disclosed. A gravure cylinder having a first and a second plurality of discrete cells disposed upon an outer surface. A cell of the first plurality of discrete cells receives a first portion of a fluid from a first reservoir and a cell of the second plurality of discrete cells receives a second portion of the fluid from a second reservoir. The first and second portions of the fluid is fluidically displaceable into the respective first and second reservoirs through a discrete channel having a single entry point at a position external to the gravure cylinder, a first exit point into the first reservoir, and a second exit point into the second reservoir. The discrete channel provides fluid communication of the first and second portions of the fluid from the position external to the gravure cylinder to each of the respective first and second reservoirs.

    摘要： An intaglio printing press includes, an intaglio plate cylinder, inking units, each having an ink supplying pattern roller in contact with the intaglio plate cylinder, and each ink supplying pattern roller having different supply patterned portions, an ink removing unit which removes surplus ink of the ink supplied to the intaglio plate cylinder, an ink recycling unit provided upstream of the ink removing unit with respect to a rotation direction of the intaglio plate cylinder and downstream of the inking unit, and adapted to remove ink before the ink is removed by the ink removing unit and return the removed ink to the inking unit. The ink recycling unit includes precedence ink removing means which includes a pre-wiping pattern roller in contact with the intaglio plate cylinder for removing the ink from the intaglio plate cylinder, and ink returning means which returns the removed ink to the inking unit.
