摘要： The ribbon cartridge includes a re-inker assembly having a pair of idler rollers defining a nip therebetween through which the print ribbon is advanced. The idler rollers have teeth intermeshing one with the other and with the print ribbon therebetween such that the idler rollers are positively driven when the ribbon is advanced. One of the idler rollers lies in contact with a re-inker roller or wick for transferring ink from the re-inker roller or wick to the print ribbon as the ribbon passes through the nip of the idler rollers.

摘要： An ink ribbon cassette repeatedly usable for an extended period of time by replenishment of ink to an ink ribbon after each printing operation. The cassette includes a cassette casing, an ink-storing member disposed within the cassette casing and storing ink liquid as absorbed therein, an ink-absorbing member disposed within the cassette casing for absorbing the ink liquid from the ink-storing member through contact thereof with the ink-storing member. A wall member is disposed within the cassette casing and encasing the ink-storing member and the ink-absorbing member, the wall member defining an opening for allowing a portion of the ink-absorbing member to be exposed therethrough to the outside. A replenishing roll is provided to be rotatable while elastically contacting the ink-absorbing member through the opening so as to replenish the ink liquid to an ink ribbon being moved. The ink-storing member and the ink-absorbing member together form a gap at mutually contacting portions thereof registered with the opening so as to allow flection of the portion of the ink-absorbing member toward the ink-storing member in association with the contact therebetween.

摘要： A printer ribbon cartridge (10) containing an internal re-inking mechanism (12) for re-inking the ribbon (14) housed in the cartridge is provided. The internal re-inking mechanism (12) comprises a drive assembly (30), pump (24), an eccentric (26), an ink reservoir (22), an ink feeding tube (34), a re-inking ring (30) and a transfer roller (38). As the ribbon (14) is threaded and propelled through the drive assembly (30), the drive assembly drives the pump (24) via the eccentric (26). The pump (24) pumps ink from the ink reservoir (22) to the re-inking ring (36) through the ink feeding tube (34). The ink is transferred from the re-inking ring (36) to the ribbon (14) via the transfer roller (38).

摘要： A ribbon cartridge for an impact printer includes a liquid ink container, a metering/transfer device such as a peristaltic pump, an ink reservoir pad, and an ink transfer roller. 摘要： A thermal transfer printer capable of quickly starting after being turned on and reproducing high quality color images, includes a photosensitive roller forming a charge pattern according to an ink transferred portion on an ink sheet at a time that the photosensitive roller is exposed to light from a light source through ink transferred portion of the ink sheet while the ink sheet is superimposed on the photosensitive roller. Nonconductive, charged ink powder is applied only to the ink transferred portion by electrostatic force produced in correspondence with the charge pattern. The ink powder filled in the ink transferred portion is then fused by a heating roller to form a uniform thickness of the ink layer of the ink sheet, and the ink sheet is used again for the thermal head of the printer.

摘要： A reinking color ribbon cassette for a printer is described. The cassette has plural, independent ink ribbons of different colors - such as the primary colors and a black color - and a ribbon feeder for driving only the ink ribbon of a selected color to perform printing through the ink ribbon of the selected color. 摘要： A compact and disposable stenographic ribbon cartridge system includes a cartridge driven by an external drive. The cartridge contains a densely-packed ribbon that is automatically inked. Under urging of the drive, the ribbon travels through an external guide that holds the ribbon between the character trunnion and the paper platen. A sealed ink reservoir is disposed above the ribbon chamber. The ribbon is pulled by an idler gear and a drive gear. The idler gear is in contact with a wick extending from the reservoir. As the idler gear rotates, it wicks the ink onto itself and transfers the ink to the ribbon as it makes contact. The external drive system is coupled to the platen so as to cause movement of the ribbon upon movement of the platen.

摘要： A printer cartridge including a leak resistant ink reservoir, a wicking mechanism and an inking apparatus. The reservoir is for a predetermined quantity of ink and resists leakage by an arrangement of venting and dispensing apertures arranged and provided with barriers. The wicking mechanism combines compressible capillary tubing with an applicator, so that pressure on the applicator squeezes the capillary tubing to provide both pumping and capillary transfer of ink from the reservoir to the applicator. The inking apparatus intermittently presses against the applicator to pick up a film of ink and to provide the pumping action for the wicking mechanism. The inking apparatus includes two belts that receive ink from the applicator and apply it to upper and lower zones of a printer ribbon. The ink is then allowed to diffuse into the central impact zone of the ribbon.
