摘要: A low-profile liquid storage tank and vehicles incorporating same. An exemplary low-profile liquid storage tank may define an interior volume having an upper surface that defines an access port, and a lower surface that includes a fluid impingement portion positioned below the access port. The impingement portion may include two or more undulations formed in or on the lower surface of the tank, the undulations adapted to assist with reducing splash-back of fluid added to the tank through the access port.

摘要: A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell and an inner shell. The protective outer shell has an inner shell receiving area. The inner shell, which holds fuel, is housed in the inner shell receiving area of the outer shell. The inner shell cooperates with the outer shell to maintain the position of the inner shell relative to the outer shell and relative to the vehicle during normal operation. During an impact to the vehicle, the inner shell moves independent of the outer shell and the vehicle, allowing a portion of the energy or the forces associated with an impact to be absorbed by the outer shell, reducing the energy or force transferred to the inner shell.

摘要: A fuel tank structure of an all-terrain vehicle is provided. The all-terrain vehicle includes a vehicle frame unit, a fuel tank arranged on the vehicle frame unit, a seat cushion arranged on the vehicle frame unit, a pair of rear wheels rotatably mounted to a rear section of the vehicle frame unit, and a power unit arranged on the vehicle frame unit. The power unit is connected to an exhaust unit. The vehicle frame unit includes a rear carrier rack and a rear ancillary tube assembly. The fuel tank is arranged rearwardly of the power unit and located below the rear carrier rack. The fuel tank includes a body portion, which is formed with a lower buffering fuel accommodation extension section extending in a direction toward a lower side of the vehicle body, so as to increase the weight of the fuel tank.

摘要: A fuel tank includes a fuel tank main body portion, a first supporting pillar portion, and a second supporting pillar portion. The first supporting pillar portion is provided at a vehicle rear side of an inner side of the fuel tank main body portion. The second supporting pillar portion is provided at a vehicle front side of the first supporting pillar portion at the inner side of the fuel tank main body portion and is longer in the vehicle vertical direction than the first supporting pillar portion is in the vehicle vertical direction.

摘要: A fuel tank in a vehicle. The fuel tank includes a protective outer shell, an inner shell and a crush sleeve. The protective outer shell defines an outer tank. The inner shell defines an inner tank which holds fuel. The inner shell is housed in the outer shell and is isolated from the outer shell by a space. The crush sleeve is provided in the space between the outer shell and the inner shell. The crush sleeve supports the inner shell and maintains the inner shell in position relative to the outer shell. Wherein during an impact to the vehicle, the force of the impact causes the outer shell and the crush sleeve to deform and the inner shell to move relative to the outer shell.

摘要: A non-metallic transfer fuel tank, configured for placement in a spare tire location on a vehicle, includes a rigid non-metallic tank body with a plurality of cutouts formed in the tank body. A fill neck is coupled to the tank body along with a fuel line connector which connects the tank to the vehicle's existing fuel system. A mounting neck formed in the tank body contains a mounting rod. The mounting rod is coupled to a base plate which is below the tank body. The mounting rod is also coupled to a mounting plate which is located above the tank body. The mounting plate is further configured to couple in a winch location in the spare tire location on the vehicle using the same mounting method as was used to mount the spare tire winch.
