A cableway system for the transport of persons or goods has two pairs of track cables, which extend between two terminal stations, such as a valley station and a mountain station. Transport vehicles, such as gondolas, are moved along the track cables by at least one traction cable. The track cables run in a curved path in the region of at least one tower and the traction cable is guided in the region of the at least one tower via carrying rollers. At least some of the carrying rollers for the traction cable, which are located in the region of the at least one tower, are adjustable in terms of their position in relation to the two track cables.

A cableway system for the transport of persons has one or a plurality of vehicles, such a gondolas, that are moved along a route between stations. En route the vehicles are coupled to a conveying or traction cable. In the stations the vehicles are decoupled from the conveying or traction cable, moved through the station, where they are moved past or halted at one or more embarkation or disembarkation points adjoining an entry or exit region for the passengers, where the passengers board or vacate the vehicles. Then the vehicles are once more coupled to the conveying or traction cable and moved out of the station. In at least one of the stations there is provided a screen or wall between the movement path of the vehicle and the entry or exit region for the passengers. The wall is formed with a passage opening for the passengers at the embarkation or disembarkation point.

The method of independent control of the drum of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line in each carriage in the system of cableway carriages which are driven by an endless line or by a movable line that rotates or moves in an optional direction, so that in each cableway carriage the drum is controlled independently in superimposed time, and the operation of each cableway carriage is independent from the other carriages in the system of the cableway carriages, while the way of the load lifting/lowering line or the main line drum control in the cableway carriage system is assured by the endless line (3) or by the movable line (3), which rotates or moves in the cableway system in the same direction (optional according to the needs); the drive of the drum is actuated, according to the needs, in all carriages through which the endless line (3) or the movable line (3) passes; in each carriage the endless line (3) or the movable line (3) actuates the rotation of the sheave (9) in the direction of the rotation or movement of the endless line (3) or the movable line (3); in each carriage the main operation of the drum (6), the brake mode of the drum (6) and the reverse mode of the drum (6) are actuated by the rotation of the sheave (9); in each carriage the main operation of the drum (6), the brake mode of the drum (6) and the reverse mode of the drum (6) are realized independently from the other carriages according to the requirements; the unwinding of the line (5) from the drum (6) and the winding of the line (5) onto the drum (6) is controlled independently in each cableway carriage in the system of cableway carriages by the main operation of the drum (6), the brake mode of the drum (6) and the reverse mode of the drum (6).

A cable-tow system including a skiing surface. A drive tower, including a drive pulley, and a support tower, including a return pulley, are positioned on a periphery of the skiing surface. The cable-tow system further includes a stationary support cable spanning a first distance between the drive tower and the support tower. A movable drive cable spans a second distance between the drive pulley and the return pulley. The movable drive cable travels in an orbital fashion between the drive pulley and the return pulley. A truck is connected to the movable drive cable and includes at least one race pulley. The at least one race pulley engages the stationary support cable. A tow rope is connected to the truck and includes a handle for towing a skier. Movement of the movable drive cable moves the truck along a length of the stationary support cable.

A zipline braking system and deceleration method having one load carrying cable, and at least one overhead member, where the overhead member can be extended above substantially the entire length of the load carrying member. A stopping member is attached with the cable, and a suspender is attached with the overhead member. A rope is attached with the stopping member and the suspender, such that when the stopping member and person traveling on the zipline move toward the finish end of the cable, the rope pulls counterweight against the force of gravity. A guide can apply friction to the rope at the finish end to further decelerate the speed of a person traveling on the zipline.

A passenger transport installation in urban aeras comprises a wide track, constituted by two parallel, laterally spaced track cables and vehicles having supporting wheels for running on that track cables. The supporting wheels are located above the vehicle roof at a small constant distance thereof, so as to provide a clearance between the vehicle roof and the horizontal plane containing the track cables, wherein are housed the track cable bearing shoes and the vehicle traction cable loops with their return wheels.

A remotely operated camera system has a camera on a mobile camera mounting unit suspended from a suspension cable guidingly supporting the camera mounting unit for movement to and fro along a predetermined path of travel. An endless traction cable extends along the path of travel of the camera mounting unit, and is driven so that opposed runs of the traction cable move in opposite directions along the path of travel. Pulleys on the cable mounting unit are wrapped by the opposed runs of the traction cable and a remote control selectively operates the pulleys to transmit drive to the camera mounting unit and thereby to displace the latter in the corresponding direction along the suspension cable. This system avoids having a prime mover or an operator on the camera mounting unit.

A circulating aerial ropeway for conveying material such as loose or bulk goods has individual cars for conveying the material, each car being pivotally borne between two longitudinal carrying beams for swinging movement about a transverse, substantially horizontal axis which is above the center of gravity of the car, the car thereby being free-hanging and arranged always to assume a substantially horizontal position, each carrying beam mounting running wheels, the ropeway also having at least two laterally-spaced, parallel track ropes, a track rope being on each side of each car so that the running wheels run on the track ropes, and at least two laterally-spaced, parallel hauling ropes, a hauling rope being on each side of each car the cars having jaws for coupling the hauling rope to the car.

A cable connection with slack cable-brake release for an aerial cableway, wherein a traction cable and possibly a counter cable are secured to the travelling mechanism or carriage of the aerial cableway and a brake mechanism of the aerial cableway is automatically released by a brake release mechanism influenced by the cable traction upon decrease of the cable traction to a predetermined minimum value. The tensioned or traction cable is guided over a damping mechanism arranged at the travelling mechanism for overcoming the oscillations of the cable and after wrapping about a cable drum is attached to the travelling mechanism. The traction cable in an oscillation-free range is deflected by a force measuring device which for a predetermined value of the cable-contact force which is proportional to the cable traction brings about the response of the brake release mechanism.
