    摘要: The present invention comprises a steering system selectively operable in one of three modes: steer-by-wire, electronic power assist steering (EPAS), and manual steering. The steer-by-wire system includes a driver interface system (DIS), a road wheel actuator system (RWAS), and a controller for monitoring and implementing the preferred control strategy. The steering system of the present invention operates normally in a steer-by-wire mode. In each of the EPAS mode and manual mode, the controller causes a clutch mechanism to engage, thus creating a mechanical linkage between portions of the DIS and the RWAS. In the EPAS mode, one of the road wheel actuator or the reaction torque generator is available to assist in the steering operation. Alternatively, in the manual mode, both the DIS and the RWAS are deactivated and the vehicle is steerable through entirely mechanical means.

The rolling bearing is formed as an elastic, flexible roller bearing (13), whose cylinder rollers (13.5, 13.6) have at least at one peripheral position an elastically deformable cylinder roller (13.6), having a diameter that is slightly greater than a diameter of the other cylinder rollers (13.5). In this way, an exact guidance of the input shaft (6) is achieved, so that the applied steering torque can be used accurately by an evaluation unit (15) for controlling the servo motor (7).

    摘要: An electric power steering apparatus including: a steering rack shaft which has an external thread with a flat crest and can be moved in the axial direction in response to a steering operation; a ball screw mechanism, which has a nut screwed onto the external thread via balls so as to be relatively rotational, for transforming the rotational force of the electric motor into movement force in the axial direction and transmitting the movement force to the steering rack shaft; and a cylindrical member, which is fitted on the steering rack shaft, for depressing the deflection amount of the steering rack shaft, wherein the width of the flat crest of the external thread is 0.7 to 1.5 times as long as the diameter of the balls. The inner surface of the cylindrical member hardly abrades away even when the external thread contacts with the inner surface of the cylindrical member.

The apparatus is provided with a current detection circuit for detecting a current flowing through the electric motor to output a motor current detection signal, and a microcomputer for controlling the electric motor on the basis of the motor current detection signal. The current detection circuit has a variable gain amplification circuit, to output the motor current detection signal amplified by the variable gain amplification circuit. The microcomputer has an analog-to-digital conversion port to which the motor current detection signal outputted by the current detection circuit is inputted, to receive the motor current detection signal through the analog-to-digital conversion port. The apparatus is further provided with a gain change section for changing the gain of the variable gain amplification circuit.
