    摘要: A wheel rotated by a load applied to an axle remaining stationary at an eccentric position is disclosed. The present invention comprises: the wheel configured such that the outer periphery of an inner rim of the wheel assembled to a wheel hub provided at the axle to which the load is applied applies pressure to a plurality of compressive force elastic bodies provided at the inner periphery of an outer rim of the wheel; and a control roller for pushing the outer rim of the wheel at a gap of a predetermined range such that the axle provided at the wheel hub always remains stationary at the eccentric position of the wheel.

    摘要: In a pedal crank mechanism at least one curved coupling spring is provided for resiliently coupling the pedal crank and the sprocket wheel and is resiliently backed by at least one backing member carried by the sprocket wheel or by the pedal crank. The curved coupling spring engages the backing member at retaining means which are carried by the sprocket wheel or by the pedal crank, or at a point spaced from said retaining means. From the zone in which said coupling spring is backed by the backing member, the coupling spring extends so as to progressively increase its radial distance from the backing surface of the backing member.

    摘要: A linkage system is disclosed that is suitable for connecting an input shaft and an output shaft. The linkage system has a wide variety of applications, with non-limiting examples disclosed including a hinge for a door or gate, and a hub for a bicycle or similar. The linkage system comprises a first member having an input location fixedly connected to the input shaft, a second member having an input location pivotally connected to an output location of the first member, a third member having an input location pivotally connected to an output location of the second member, and a fourth member having an input location pivotally connected to an output location of the third member and having an output location fixedly connected to the output shaft. The linkage system has an engaged mode of operation whereby rotation of the input shaft causes corresponding rotation of the output shaft, and a disengaged mode of operation whereby the input shaft can be rotated independently of the output shaft.

    摘要: The present invention is an energy-storing bicycle sprocket drive system which includes a crank which rotates a shaft about the shaft's longitudinal axis. The crank moves through a point of minimum applied leverage and a point of maximum applied leverage in each rotational cycle. Journalled to the shaft is a drive plate having an outer surface with at least one opening. Each opening has an inner surface with at least one end wall. Facing the drive plate is a wheel which rotates freely on the shaft. At least one drive peg is mounted to the wheel such that it is in a position parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The drive peg extends from the wheel and into the opening of the drive plate. A spring is mounted within the opening between the end wall and the drive peg. As the shaft rotates and the spring is in a compressed state, it stores energy while exerting a first force on the drive peg causing the wheel to revolve as the crank rotates 90 degrees from the point of maximum applied leverage. Whereby as the crank then rotates 90 degrees from the point of minimum applied leverage the spring releases energy, transforms into an extended state, and applies a second force on the drive peg which maintains the wheel's motion.
