摘要： A method for bringing together a wrapper and a plurality of inserts can be used to form an advertising means compilation. In a region of a compilation section, the wrapper and the inserts are deposited on one another individually and in succession on a conveying element which is moved in a direction of transport. A leading edge of the wrapper is deposited offset relative to leading edges of the inserts so as to form an excess length of the wrapper. The inserts are deposited on one another, forming a stack, such that the leading edges of the inserts form a common fold edge. The excess length of the wrapper, which lies flat on the conveying element or on the stack of inserts, is folded around the fold edge and, at least in part, around the stack of inserts so as to form the advertising means compilation.

摘要： A cardboard sheet dispenser is incorporated in a bacon slicing machine line that is operable to group slices in shingled fashion and into segregated batches of predetermined weight. The dispenser directs a cardboard sheet in synchronization with the movement of the batches so that individual batches are placed on a sheet and thereafter transferred to subsequent packaging stations. The dispenser includes a hopper for receiving vertically stacked cardboard sheets and includes a base having a plurality of strippers serving to support the stack of sheets while assuring that only one sheet at a time is removed from the hopper. A pick-off assembly operates to remove the lowermost sheet from the hopper and transfer it to the nip of a roller assembly. The pick-off assembly includes a first piston-cylinder assembly that assumes a vertical position below the hopper so that suction cups at the free end of the piston of this assembly is adapted to engage and secure the lowermost sheet in the hopper upon extension of this piston and upon retraction thereof lower this sheet to a lowered position. A second piston-cylinder assembly is rigidly connected to the first piston-cylinder assembly and is adapted to be actuated between a retracted position at which both piston-cylinder assemblies are in the vertical position and an extended position. A cam follower bar extending laterally from the free end of the piston of the second piston-cylinder assembly travels in a pair of complementary cam slots such that when the piston of the second piston-cylinder assembly is extended, the cam follower bar follows the slots to cause the piston-cylinder assemblies to assume a tilted position.

The box folding apparatus comprises a rectangular throat frame having an adjustable rectangular throat opening and a suction device with suction nozzles for sucking the bottom panel of the blank. A displacement device is provided for lowering the suction nozzles from a top position in which top surfaces of the suction nozzles lie in a plane supporting the blank towards a bottom position, thereby causing folding of the side and end panels of the blank with respect to the bottom panel as the blank is drawn through the throat opening.

摘要： An elevator lifts a package through the plane of a wrapper sheet to form top, front and back end folds, while fixed depending side folder plates form top side folds in projecting sides of the sheet. Forwardly and rearwardly directed air jet nozzles carried on the outer sides of the side folder plates form upper front and rear tuck folds in the projecting sides of the wrapper. Next, front and rear bottom folder plates advance in under the package to form front and rear bottom folds in lapped relation on bottom of the package. Front side folder plates advanced with the front bottom folder but in trailing relation to its leading edge advance to adjacent the front edges of the fixed side folder plates and complete the front side tuck folds. Rear side folder blades spaced outwardly from the depending side folder plates and moved forwardly with the rear bottom folder break rear side tuck folds over the lower rear sides of the package, while front side folder blades spaced outwardly from the front side folder plates break lower front side tuck folds in the ends of the wrapper sheet. A front package pusher ejects the package rearwardly from between the fixed side folder plates to between fixed side plows that hold the side folds and upper tuck folds against the sides of the package while plowing up bottom side folds and lower front and rear tuck folds against the sides of the package. A transversely and downwardly rounded edge below the rear end folder stretches the rear of the sheet laterally to the ends of the package as the rear side fold and rear tuck folds are formed.
