摘要： A lightweight, collapsible container is provided for storing and transporting flowable materials on an irregularly shaped rectangular pallet. The container is provided with interlocking panels across the bottom, which are maintained in position by hydrostatic pressure generated by flowable material positioned within a flexible bag provided within the container. The top of the container is allowed to orient into its hydrostatically biased equilateral orientation, and provided with an equilateral octangular lid. This construction maintains the container bottom width substantially less than it length, with a minimum of support structures and materials.

A side edge of the bottom forming board (4) of the sub face wall (3) of the box forming bodies (P1) and (P2) is made to be an inclined edge (6) having a 45 degrees angle in respect with a border line between the sub face wall (3) and the bottom forming board (4), and the inclined edge (6) is extendedly provided with a folding connecting piece (9) having a line for bending into the shape of V (8) for erasing an effect of elastic memory of the high density foam polypropylene resin occurring in folding. Respective border lines of respective components of the box forming bodies (P1) and (P2) are made to be lines for bending into the shape of mountain (7) for erasing an effect of elastic memory of the high density foam polypropylene resin. A back surface of the folding connecting piece (9) extendedly provided to the bottom forming board (4) of the sub face wall (3) and a front surface of the bottom forming board (4) of the main face wall (2) opposing to the back surface are connected by heat and pressure-fusion.

This configuration reduces the bulge experienced when product is loaded into the bin. In addition to the wider corner panels, or in lieu thereof, scores may be placed in at least one of the side and end panels to define a line along which controlled and predetermined buckling will take place, if buckling occurs.

摘要： A corrugated paperboard bulk box has opposed pairs of parallel side walls, and in a preferred embodiment, has interposed diagonal corner panels to form an octagonal box. The bottom of the box is closed by opposed pairs of interlocking major and minor bottom flaps, wherein one pair of flaps have notches in their free edges and the other pair of flaps have T-shaped locking tabs in their free edges. The notches form a central opening in the bottom when the flaps are folded closed, and the locking tabs are pushed through the opening to lock the flaps closed. Aligning tabs project outwardly from opposite side edges of one pair of opposed bottom flaps, and complemental slots are formed at the folding connection of another pair of bottom flaps, so that when the flaps are folded inwardly toward one another, the tabs extend into the slots to square the box and hold it square.
