The first side wall includes at least one tab (42a) hingedly connected thereto. The at least one tab is configured to provide a support structure for facilitating stacking of the carton. The at least one tab has a lower edge in contact with an upper surface of an article and includes an upper edge in contact with an inner surface of the top panel of the carton so as to support the top panel of the carton above the upper surface of the article.

摘要： A wrap-around bottle carrier wherein the bottle heel cutouts at the ends of the carrier are spaced from the ends a greater distance than normal to increase the strength of the carrier at this area of stress. To permit this arrangement to be used, the shape of the outer or end cutouts is altered by connecting the top of the cutout to the vertical inner side portion of the cutout by a straight cut rather than by the usual curved cut. This allows the edges of the end cutouts to contact the bottles when the carrier is lifted even though, due to the change in dimensions of the end cutouts, the end cutouts are not symmetrically arranged with respect to the centerline of their associated bottles.

摘要： A wrap-around carrier with gusset panels connected to the bottom panel that automatically fold into their upright position when the bottom panel flaps are set up for locking engagement. The resulting upright portions of the gusset panels contact the bottom portion of adjacent articles in the carrier to prevent the articles from falling out through the ends of the carrier. The fold lines connecting the gusset panels to the side panels are angled back to lengthen these fold lines while cutouts in the gusset panels shorten the length of the other fold lines of the gusset panels. This increases the pulling power of the gusset panels while decreasing the bias force which must be overcome in order for the gusset panels to be folded into their upright position.

摘要： A number of articles, such as jars, are packaged in a sleeve made from a blank of foldable sheet material. The blank comprises a top panel, a number of spaced apart side forming panels, a pair of strip panels hingedly joining the side forming panels and opposite pairs of bottom forming panels provided by the sheet material between adjacent side forming panels as extensions of the strip panels. The top panel abuts one end of the jars; the side panels extend alongside the jars so that the jars are visible in the space between them; and the strip panels are turned outwards so that the bottom forming panels of each pair project mutually inwards and overlap in abutment with the other end of the jar.
