Fixed length fabric frames can be used in a particle conveyance system to separate a pressurized plenum from a conveyance volume. Traditional particle conveyance systems can be retrofitted to utilize fixed length fabric frames.

A conduit for transporting finely-divided or fine-granular, dry bulk materials comprises a material conveyance zone and a zone for introducing the fluidizing medium separated from the first mentioned zone by a material which is permeable to gas and fluids. This conduit comprises at least one each of a closed feeder channel, a closed fluidizing channel and between these a fluidizing base. It runs approximately horizontal. In and/or above the fluidizing base are impeller nozzles with at least one outlet opening for a gaseous or fluid impeller medium. The fluidizing medium is introduced into the feeder channel/feeder channels at a positive pressure of 100-500 mm water column and the impeller medium at a positive pressure of 700-1500 mm water column.

Apparatus for removal of granular material from laterally spaced rows of containers having discharge ports whose lower edges are on a level with each other. A conveyor is in the space between the rows of containers substantially on a level with or slightly below the lower edges of the discharge ports. A tubular housing encloses the conveyor provided with inlet ports in its upper wall corresponding to the discharge ports of the containers and has an outlet orifice at the end of the conveyor. Sheet members bridge the gaps between the lower edges of the discharge ports and the adjacent edges of the upper wall of the tubular housing to form a roof of a chamber which is connected to the pressure side of a fan. There are slits in the sheet members providing upper orifices facing away from the discharge ports whereby the air current discharged from the chamber through the orifices will tend to move the material emerging from a discharge port towards the corresponding inlet port of the housing.

The enclosures have permeable floors therein and a fluidizing medium is supplied upwardly through the floors. The junction comprises a secondary enclosure spaced between and at a lower elevation than the primary enclosures, having a permeable floor therein, and a fluidizing medium is supplied upwardly through the floor, and juxtaposed flexible tubes connecting the secondary enclosure with the primary enclosures at a location closely adjacent the end of the permeable floor in each primary enclosure.

A flow gate which is in the general form of a rectangular butterfly gate for use with a fluidizing gravity conveyor for granular particulate material such as cement or alumina. The flow control apparatus includes an open body having a wall dividing the body into upper and lower flow paths. The upper flow path is contiguous with the material chamber of the conveyor and the lower flow path is contiguous with the air plenum of the conveyor. A butterfly gate is mounted in the upper flow path for rotation about an axis parallel to the wall means and spaced between the wall means and the top of the body. A motor or manual means is provided for rotating the butterfly between a position which permits material to flow through the conveyor and a position which prevents such material flow. The butterfly gate is generally rectangular to conform to the shape of the conveyor.
