Abstract:
A sheet feeder is provided, which includes: a sheet feed member and a separating member which form a nip portion by pressing each other, the separating member rotates following the sheet feed member when a first recording sheet is inserted into the nip portion, and rotates reversely when a second recording sheet is inserted while being stacked under the first recording sheet; a sheet detection unit which detects the recording sheet inserted into the nip portion; a direction detection unit which detects a rotation direction of the separating member; and a separating force adjusting unit which gradually increases a reverse rotation torque of the separating member from a initial torque after the sheet detection unit detects the recording sheet, and stops the increase of the reverse rotation torque to maintain the reverse rotation torque when the direction detection unit detects reverse rotation of the separating member.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding device includes a sheet feeding roller and a holder body. A separation pad is arranged on an upstream side, in a feeding direction of a recording medium, within a concave portion of a top surface side of the holder body facing a surface of the sheet feeding roller. On a downstream side of the concave portion adjacent to the separation pad, a low friction member is arranged in which at least a surface layer is formed of a material with a small coefficient of friction. Furthermore, a gap formation portion is formed in a surface of the concave portion where the low friction member is arranged and made higher than a surface where the separation pad is arranged. Additionally, by making the separation pad and the low friction member with the same thickness, when arranged in the concave portion, the surface of the low friction member is formed higher than the surface of the separation pad by the height of the gap formation portion.

A paper feeding apparatus includes: a frame forming one of a paper stacker and a paper feed tray on which paper is stackable; a paper feed unit disposed above the frame and including a pickup roller which picks up the paper; and an active paper separator disposed at a lower part of the frame in the paper feeding direction thereof, contacting leading ends of sheets disposed in the frame, rotatable in an anti-paper feeding direction opposite the feeding direction so as to actively rub the leading ends and thereby separate and feed the sheets one at a time when the sheets of paper are picked up by the pickup roller.
Abstract:
A paper feeder for use in image forming apparatus is provided, which includes separating rubber member and sheet feeding roller both disposed at a location corresponding to a widthwise central portion of a recording sheet, and which is operative to feed the recording sheet by rotation of the sheet feeding roller and bring the leading edge of the recording into contact with a skew correction roller in a rotation-halted state to correct possible skew of the recording sheet before image formation, the paper feeder being provided with buckling preventive mechanism extending over opposite sides of the separating rubber member for preventing the recording sheet from being deflected during feeding of the recording sheet by the sheet feeding roller.
Abstract:
A sheet-supply device includes a pair of stopper members provided to a bottom plate of a hopper portion so as to move between a protruding position where upper surfaces of the stopper members protrude from a surface of the bottom plate and a retracted position where upper surfaces of the stopper members retract from the surface of the bottom plate, and a position change mechanism moving the stopper members between the protruding and retracted positions. By changing a timing of ascending the stopper members to the protruding position according to a type of the sheets to be fed, an appropriate resistance is applied to all of the sheets in the hopper portion except a topmost sheet during a sheet feed operation, thereby preventing a multi-feed problem. The stopper members moves up and down several times via the position change mechanism at a time between after the sheet feed operation is completed and before a next sheet feed operation starts, thereby positioning the sheets, which may cause the multi-feed problem, at a predetermined sheet holding position.
Abstract:
A sheet feeding apparatus for separating and feeding sheets supported on a sheet supporting portion one by one is provided with a separating and feeding portion having a sheet feed roller provided downstream of the sheet supporting portion for feeding the sheets, and a separation roller brought into pressure contact with the sheet feed roller, and designed to be rotatable in the same direction as or a direction opposite to the rotational direction of the sheet feed roller, and separating and feeding the sheets one by one, and a transport restriction guide provided near the separation roller so as to protrude toward the sheet feed roller for restricting the number of sheets coming into the pressure contact portion between the sheet feed roller and the separation roller, and the transport restriction guide is formed by a flexible member, and is provided so as to be pressed by the sheets coming into between the sheet feed roller and the separation roller and be flexible toward the separation roller side, and the transport restriction guide is flexed so as to abut against the separation roller.
Abstract:
A sheet separator. The sheet separator includes a main body, a frictional member, and an elastic member. The main body is rotatable with a slot being longitudinally parallel to the moving direction of the medium. The frictional member is disposed in the slot and contacts the medium. When feeding, the medium exerts a first force on the main body through the frictional member. Moreover, the elastic member connects to the main body and exerts a second force thereon. According to the first force and the second force, the angle between the main body and the medium is adjusted.
Abstract:
To suppress vibration and percussive noises generally created by a separation pad and pressure spring in a sheet feeding apparatus, a sheet feeding tray stacks and maintains sheets, a sheet feeding roller launches sheets stacked on the sheet feeding tray, and a separation pad separates sheets from each other. In particular, when feeding a last sheet of one job, the sheet feeding roller stops rotating while pinching an uppermost sheet of a next job in cooperation with the separation pad.
Abstract:
There is here disclosed a sheet material feed apparatus comprising sheet material stacking means for stacking sheet materials; a feed roller for feeding the sheet materials stacked on the sheet material stacking means; a drive source for driving the feed roller; a separation roller rotated according to the feed roller to separate a sheet material; a separation roller holder for rotatably holding the separation roller, the separation roller holder being rotated to thereby move the separation roller to a position in contact with the feed roller and a position apart from the feed roller; and return means for returning the sheet materials other than the sheet material separated by the separation roller to the sheet material stacking means, the return means being controlled by one-direction rotation for driving the feed roller of the drive source. Furthermore, a recording apparatus for recording on the sheet material by the recording head is also disclosed herein.
Abstract:
Resilient supporting member for resiliently supporting the lower edge of recording paper sheets is provided near a lower part of a back plate of a paper sheet feeding apparatus. The resilient supporting member includes a rocking support piece and a spring. When the recording paper sheets are inserted into the paper sheet feeding apparatus, the rocking support piece is angularly displaced about an axis extending perpendicularly to the paper sheet feeding direction and absorbs the impact force generated in inserting the recording paper sheets, whereby the rocking support piece is pressed against a predetermined holding portion by an upwardly directed spring force and the angle that the receiving face of the rocking support piece makes with the supporting face of the back plate is held at an angle null1 suitable for paper sheet feeding.
