    摘要: Phosphate-contaminated water passes through a domestic sewage treatment system, in which oxidation of the ammonium progresses far enough to cause a lowering of the pH to 5 or less. The water is passed over sand grains coated with aluminum hydroxide (gibbsite). Enough Al3+ ions enter solution, at the low pH, to cause all the phosphate-P to precipitate as aluminum phosphate, and nothing else precipitates other than the aluminum phosphate.

Filter media is positioned in each cell to filter the contaminated water received from the fish raising tank. A delivery system returns the filtered water back to the fish raising tank.

    摘要: A water treatment system, method and apparatus for removing sediment, chemical pollutants and debris from contaminated stormwater runoff using physical, chemical and biological processes by passing runoff water preferably through a two-stage filtering and treatment system. The apparatus includes a first stage chamber filter system comprising a water storage area, a mulch layer a soil mixture of aggregate, organic material, soil, and live woody and/or herbaceous plants. The second stage treatment system is a water-filled lower chamber with baffles to increase the flow path of treated runoff through the chamber. Contaminated stormwater runoff or wastewater effluent is directed to and passes through the first stage chamber by gravity where the contaminated water is filtered and treated by the mulch, soil and plant filter media under aerobic conditions. The treated water from the first stage is directed to the second stage water-filled chamber where it is further treated through physical means (sedimentation) and anaerobic biological processes and discharged to the receiving waters or drainage system. The first stage chamber can be used without the second stage chamber when conditions warrant.

    摘要: The apparatus is a small flow wastewater treatment system. The system uses a recirculating packed media filter for the initial treatment of effluent from a device such as a septic tank. The incoming wastewater is furnished to the recirculating packed media filter intermittently to permit air into the filter for maintaining high levels of oxygen for bacteria action. The recirculating packed media filter is followed by a subsurface flow constructed wetland. The wastewater entering the apparatus of the invention is divided into two parts so that 5 to 25 percent of the incoming flow bypasses the recirculating packed media filter and goes directly into the subsurface flow constructed wetland to encourage bacteria action that converts nitrates into gaseous nitrogen.

The thus filtered effluent is recycled a plurality of times through the same filter canister, further to cleanse the effluent. A small portion of the recycling effluent is directed outward into a drip irrigation system. A second filter canister, not in line with the first canister, also receives some of the recycling, filtered effluent, for plural recycles therethrough, to enhance the filtering process, at the same time that other of the filtered effluent is being recycled through the first filter canister. The filtered effluent from the two canisters are permitted to combine prior to subsequent recycling.
