摘要: Migration of formation solids in a wellbore is restrained by feeding a slurry, comprising water, a viscosifier, and a concentration of cement clinker particles, into the wellbore, and hydrating the clinker particles in the wellbore. The clinker particles are kept in suspension during the hydrating, and upon completion of the hydrating the hydrated clinker particles form a hardened cement consisting of a permeable structure of interconnected hydrated clinker particles. A layer of degradable lost circulation material (LCM) may be employed to separate the slurry with clinker particles from the formation surrounding the wellbore during hydrating of the clinker particles.

摘要: A method is disclosed for manufacturing white cement wherein cement clinker is burnt in a kiln and prior to discharge from the kiln the clinker is contacted with a reducing agent such as fuel oil. The method further comprises discharging the hot cement clinker from the discharge portion of the kiln to a movable clinker supporting means such as a rotatable conveyor and quenching the cement clinker simultaneously with the discharge thereof from the kiln by subjecting the clinker to a spray of cooling water in a manner such that a major portion of the quenching water evaporates substantially immediately following the quenching. The method further comprises transferring the cement clinker to a clinker transporting means such as a linear conveyor and subjecting the clinker to further cooling while evaporating substantially all of the remaining quenching water, and creating and maintaining a sub-atmospheric pressure at the location of discharge of the hot cement clinker from the kiln to prevent evaporating water from entering the kiln. The invention also pertains to plant for practicing the inventive method.

摘要: A method of carbonating cement powder and use thereof. An amount of water is supplied to an initial cementitious powder to create a moistened cementitious powder. Carbon dioxide is supplied to the moistened cementitious powder, while mechanically stirring the moistened cementitious powder, to cause a reaction of the carbon dioxide with the moistened cementitious powder to produce a carbonated cementitious material. The carbonated cementitious material is dried and ground to produce a carbonated cementitious powder. The carbonated cementitious powder may be combined with ordinary cement and various ingredients or additives, such as retarders, accelerators and extenders for use in well cementing applications. Methods for cementing casing, liners and remedial operations such as plugging back, and squeeze cementing are also provided. Methods for producing a low alkaline cement suitable for high CO2 gas wells are also provided. Methods to achieve a stable retarded cement used in higher temperatures are provided.
