摘要: The electrolyte is supplied from a reservoir through at least one supply line to an electrolysis area including anodes and cathodes and at least one electric d.c. voltage source, and used electrolyte is at least partly recirculated from the electrolysis area back to the reservoir through at least one discharge line. Between a first contact point in the electrolyte of the supply line and a second contact point in the electrolyte of the discharge line there is a bridge line containing electrolyte, where the ohmic resistance R1 of the electrolyte in the bridge line between the first and the second contact point is not more than 10% of the ohmic resistance R2 which exists between the first and the second contact point in the electrolyte flowing through the reservoir. The amount of electrolyte flowing through the bridge line per unit time is not more than 5% of the amount of electrolyte flowing in the supply line in the vicinity of the first contact point.

摘要: A method of operating a chlor-alkali electrolytic cell comprising a catholyte compartment containing a cathode, an anolyte compartment containing an anode, and a liquid-permeable diaphragm partitioning the catholyte and anolyte compartments, is described. The method comprises adding water-insoluble inorganic particulate material, e.g., clay mineral, and alkali metal polyphosphate, e.g., tetrasodium pyrophosphate, to the anolyte compartment of the electrolytic cell while the cell is operating. The water-insoluble inorganic particulate material and alkali metal polyphosphate may be added to the anolyte compartment in the form of an aqueous slurry.

摘要: The invention relates to a transverse conveyor for electrodes used in the production of metals. This transverse conveyor consists of a transfer device, located below the electrodes to be transferred and which device moves back and forth on a horizontal plane, as well as of lifters used for lifting the electrodes. The transfer device consists of a frame, on which there is a moving transfer bar, which is designed to cover the frame at all stages of its movement.

摘要: An overhead traveling crane system, wherein at least two locking members (25a) are mounted vertically slidably on a lifting device (15), a stopper (25b) and a contact member are fixed to the upper and lower end parts of each locking member (25a), respectively. A non-contact sensing device is fixed to the underside of the lifting device (15), and a sensor element (27) is fixed to the locking members (25a). The lowering of the locking members (25a) is stopped when the contact means is brought into contact with a reference position, and the lowering of the lifting device (15) is stopped when the lifting device (15) is lowered further so as to move the sensing device on the lifting device (15) side closely to the sensor element on the locking members (25a). Even though a general-purpose overhead traveling crane is used, the vertical positioning accuracy of the lifting device installed on the overhead traveling crane is increased.
