Abstract:
The present invention concerns a crush roll arrangement for a card web with two co-operating working rolls 6 and 10 as used, e.g. for crushing of seed and shell particles contained in a thin card web. At least one of the two rolls 6 and 10 is designed as a hollow member, the cylindrical sleeve 19 of which is pressurized inside and thus deforming in radial direction. By this deformation, which is counteracted by a second roll, the crushing pressure is generated between the working rolls 6 and 10. The sleeve 19 can, among other solutions, be of varying thickness along the longitudinal direction of the roll in such a manner that its radial deformation can be adapted in longitudinal direction along the working rolls 6 and 10.
Abstract:
A web crushing arrangement for a card web comprises cooperating working rolls (6,7) which are supported by a pressure-loadable support member (23), elastic pressure transmitting means (26,29) being provided between the working roll (7) and the support member (23). By supplying compressed air between the surface of the working roll (7) and the pressing surface (27), of the pressing slat (26) facing and shaped to be complementary to it, an air film is generated between the complementary surfaces.
Abstract:
Safety device of a carding machine provided with a pair of crushing rollers wherein a scraping plate is urged to the cylindrical surface of each crushing roller for the entire length thereof. Each scraping plate is turnably supported by a pin so that it can be moved away from the corresponding crushing roller when required. The turning motion of each scraping plate away from or toward the corresponding crushing roller, can be carried out simultaneously by means for setting the position of each scraping plate and a manually operable handle which actuates the setting means. The main driving motor of the carding machine is connected, in series with a main switch and a control switch, to an electric source. The control switch is closed when the handle is operated so as to fix the scraping plates in contacting condition with the corresponding crushing rollers and, on the other hand, the control switch is opened when the scraping plates are moved away from the corresponding crushing rollers.
Abstract:
THE MACHINE IS PROVIDED WITH A CLEANING DEVICE COMPRISING A DRIVING CYLINDER AND A HOLLOW PRESSURE CYLINDER DISPOSED PARALLEL TO AND TANGENTIALLY ALONG THE DRIVING CYLINDER. THE PRESSURE CYLINDER IS MAINTAINED BY SIMPLY RESTING TANGENTIALLY ON THE DRIVING CYLINDER AND ON RETAINING ROLLERS CARRIED BY THE FRAME, SO THAT THE PRESSURE CYLINDER IS IN A STABLE SITUATION. THE HOLLOW PRESSURE CYLINDER IS TRAVERSED BY A NON-ROTATABLE APPLICATION BAR MOUNTED ON THE FRAME WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF MOVING AWAY FROM ITS SUPPORTRING SURFACE AGAINST THE ACTION OF RETURN SPRINGS. THE APPLICATION BAR COACTS WITH THE HOLLOW PRESSURE CYLINDER EXCLUSIVELY BY THE INTERMEDIARY OF A PLURALITY OF APPLICATION ROLLERS SUBJECTED TO THE ACTION OF ELASTIC SUSPENSION MEANS. THESE APPLICATION ROLLERS ARE PLACED AT INTERVALS ALONG THE APPLICATION BAR AND BAR AGAINST THE INTERNAL WALL OF THE PRESSURE CYLINDER ALONG A GENERATRIX OF CONTACT. THE OVERALL FORCE OF THE SUSPENSION MEANS IS SMALLER THAN THE FORCE OF THE RETURN SPRINGS OF THE APPLICATION BAR.
