摘要： The invention relates to a shuttle for a weaving machine, of which the shuttle is designed to be alternately transferred from one side of a weave to the other while machine-side guiding elements are constantly intervening, with a left-hand connecting element and a right-hand connecting element for connecting the shuttle to the corresponding transfer element and to a filling (weft) bobbin. The filling bobbin is embodied to be rotationally positively drivable, with a drive that is designed for at least two impingements upon the filling bobbin, namely for either accelerating or for decelerating the dispensing of filling (weft) thread. The invention further relates to a weaving process in which such a shuttle is used.

摘要： A method and apparatus for reducing fuel consumption in an internal combustion engine including gasoline, petrol and diesel engines used in trucks, cars and for pumps including the steps of providing a thermal insulation shield that includes reflective fabric over the exhaust manifold, around the intake plenum for intake air and intake air box, covering the turbo charger compressor with a heat insulating material that includes a reflective fabric layer and the turbo charger drive turbine housing except for the bearing area to greatly reduce heat build up in the engine compartment thereby reducing intake air temperature for increased engine efficiency. The invention has been found to increase fuel efficiency in large trucks by ten to fifteen percent. The materials are light weight and do not significantly increase engine weight or truck loan weight.

摘要： The torsion bar firing device is provided with a striking lever having an end piece at the distal end which acts directly on the abutment face of a projectile on firing. The striking face of the end piece of the striking lever and/or the abutment face of a projectile may be formed as inclined planes or as convex, concave, or concave-convex surfaces. The direct drive of the projectile by the striking lever reduces the masses to be accelerated and braked. This advantageously influences the energy consumption and the weaving efficiency of the projectile weaving loom. The end piece may be integral with the distal end of the striking lever or may be in the form of a rotatably mounted roller of a trapezium shaped element.

A rigid wedge-shaped intermediate member movable by the adjusting drive is disposed between a sliding surface of the adjusting lever and a stationary sliding surface. Movement of the intermediate member produces a pivoting movement of the adjusting lever to alter the zero position. The intermediate member transfers a force exerted by the adjusting lever on to the stationary sliding surface.

摘要： Metal substrates in corrosive environments, such as gas and oil pipelines, are normally prone to embrittlement caused by absorption of the hydrogen atoms cathodically evolved during various corrosion processes. This is substantially prevented by providing an active substance in the vicinity of the metal substrate, and in electrical contact therewith, the active substance being a sulphide or mixed sulphide of a metal of Group Vb, VIb or VIIb of the Periodic Table or of a rare earth metal, especially WS.sub.2 and MoS.sub.2. The active substance is preferably applied as or in a coating on the surface of the substrate, with an overcoating of, for example, a thermosetting resin, preferably being employed for mechanical and environmental protection.

摘要： The device for closely securing two insulator segments around a support member includes a resilient brace secured to and connecting the spaced apart insulator segments, a pair of converging upper locking surfaces and contiguous diverging lower surfaces on the insulator segments. A locking bar having a top and a pair of converging sides is conformingly inserted within the brace and upper locking surfaces in order to mechanically secure the insulator segments around the support member. A refractory mortar is applied to the interior of the locking plug and the diverging lower surfaces in order to protect the locking plug from the furnace heat. The arrangement permits the insulator segments to be locked at a single point around the support member.
