摘要： A circular knitting machine for knitwear includes a needle-holding cylinder having longitudinal grooves arranged around a central axis and housing a plurality of needles and a needle-holding ring having radial grooves housing a plurality of holding-down sinkers, wherein each needle is paired with at least one respective adjacent sinker so as to form a needle-sinker assembly. Each needle-sinker assembly includes a pre-selection element paired with the respective needle and comprising a connecting portion aligned with the radial groove and selectively cooperating with the adjacent sinker belonging to the same needle-sinker assembly. Each radial groove has a rear section and a front section, open on the front side towards the central axis; the front section is wider than the rear section. The front section is configured for laterally containing and guiding the connecting portion of the pre-selection element in its movements during the operating cycle of the knitting machine.

摘要： A sinker set comprising a coulier sinker (11) and a plush sinker (12). The sinkers (11, 12) can be moved together in a direction transverse to a knitting needle (2). The sinkers have spaced apart edges for the accommodation of stitches. In order to adjust the distance between these edges, the sinkers (11, 12) can be moved relative toward each other in the driving-out direction of the needle. To do so, they have spaced apart guiding edges (17, 18; 27, 29, 30) that are in contact with various support surfaces or guiding surfaces (20, 22; 26, 32, 33).

摘要： A stitch-forming machine which has needles guided on a needle support for displacement in the longitudinal direction and controlled by needle cams and also has holding-down and knocking-over sinkers which are adapted for displacement between the needles in the region of their heads and are moved by sinker cams in the longitudinal and transverse directions relative to the needle support. In order to guide the needles and sinkers so that they are laterally stable and to be able to operate them quietly and using relatively little power, it is suggested that the sinkers be composed of a push sinker adapted for displacement solely in the longitudinal direction and a holding-down and knocking-over sinker articulatedly connected to the push sinker and adapted for displacement in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, that the needles and push sinkers be commonly guided between webs on the needle support means, the needles thereby resting against the backs of the push sinkers, and that the pivot connection between the push sinker on the one hand and the holding-down and knocking-over sinker on the other be designed and arranged such that the holding-down and knocking-over sinker is disposed between the needles in the region of their heads.

The cam members are arranged so that the relative movement between the plate members results in tightening of a plush loop when the associated needle is raised, in placing the main and plush threads in positions when the needle is in a loop sinking position, and in tightening a mesh produced from the plush and main threads when the needle is in the loop sinking position and prepared for being raised.

The retention portions are grasped in a plastic body (7), which reaches out or embraces the retention portions (6) at one or more recesses (15, 27, 28). The plastic body serves to fix the tools (2) positionally correctly with respect to one another. The positioning of the tools (2) with respective to a dividing sinker (11), however, is effected by direct contact between the retention portions (6) and the dividing sinker (11). By filling the gaplike interstices, which exist between the retention portions, with plastic, a compact yet lightweight retention region (4) for the module (1) is obtained.

Also included therein are novel and improved constructions for compound needle elements, sinker elements and terry instruments, as well as the provision of unbroken continuous cam tracks for effecting such controlled two dimensional displacement of yarn engaging knitting elements in a path that is symmetric intermediate each adjacent pair of yarn feed locations and also is symmetric with respect to the midlocation therebetween; an improved yarn feed system capable of presenting a plurality of yarns for selected utilization at each one of a plurality of yarn feed locations and means for monitoring yarn consumption and effecting adjustments in actual stitch length in response thereto. All of the foregoing are incorporated in an overall processor controlled knitting system that provides for central computerized control and performance monitoring of a plurality of remote knitting machines in association with individual control means associated with each knitting machine, each of the latter being of a construction that accommodates operations in accord with preprogrammed instruction and continuous monitoring of individual knitting machine performance in comparison therewith.
