摘要: The APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR YIELD INCREASE IN A KRAFT COOKING PLANT present synergies for at least two parallel cooking plants, e.g., one producing dissolving pulp in a prehydrolysis kraft process, and the other producing kraft pulp by kraft pulping process, which may facilitate increased cooking yield in the kraft cooking plant producing kraft pulp by recovering the hemicelluloses solubilized in the acidic hydrolysate of the prehydrolysis kraft process. In some implementations, there may be no cold caustic extraction step on the dissolving pulp line as the target pulp purity can be achieved by performing just a prehydrolysis step, with reutilization of an acidic hydrolysate stream in a kraft pulp line.

摘要: A process for producing a fuel from lignocellulosic biomass is disclosed. The process includes obtaining a feedstock comprising lignocellulosic biomass, pretreating a slurry containing the lignocellulosic feedstock, sulfur dioxide, and optionally a bisulfite salt, at temperatures between 110° C. and 160° C. for at least 30 minutes. The pretreatment includes subjecting the slurry to a pH adjustment, which includes adding alkali to the slurry, removing lignosulfonic acid from the slurry, or a combination thereof.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for pretreating a softwood starting material comprising the following steps: a) pretreating the softwood starting material in a pretreatment process to form a slurry; b) measuring the concentration of glucose and the concentration of mannose in the slurry formed in step a); c) calculating a ratio glucose:mannose from the concentrations measured in step b) d) comparing the ratio calculated in step c) to a reference value and if the ratio calculated in step c) differs from the reference value, controlling at least one process parameter of the pretreatment process in response to the difference.

摘要: There is described a method of fractionating a biomass material comprising: (i) blending the biomass material with an acid catalyst to form a slurry; (ii) mixing the slurry with an organosolv reagent optionally under an inert atmosphere to form a pre-treatment mix; (iii) subjecting the pre-treatment mix to sonication; (iv) optionally heating the product of step (iii) in an autoclave under pressure; (v) separating the solid and liquid components of the fractionation mix; (vi) optionally washing the solid; (vii) optionally drying the solid component; (viii) separating the liquid component into organic and aqueous components; and (ix) isolating lignin from the organic component and/or isolating hemi-cellulose from the aqueous component.
