摘要:
A firestop device (10) and firestop assembly for use in a plumbing system (100) installed in a structure to prevent the transmission of smoke and fire through the plumbing system. The firestop device includes a housing (12) with a connector (14) and intumescent material (16) mounted in the inner passageway (12C) of the housing. The firestop device is intended to be mounted over the hub portion (50B) of a plumbing fitting (50). When the housing is heated, the heat is transferred to the intumescent material which expands. As the intumescent material expands, the material crushes the conduit (102) extending through the firestop device and completely blocks the inner passageway (10C) of the firestop device which prevents smoke and fire from moving through the firestop device.

A firestop coupling assembly (10, 210 or 310) for allowing the passage of utility members (50 or 52) through a hole in a partition (54 or 56) while preventing the transmission of fire and smoke through the hole. The coupling assembly including a coupling (12, 212 or 312) and a firestop extension (16, 216 or 316). The firestop extension has a housing (18, 218 or 318) with an inner passageway (22, 222 or 322). Intumescent material (28, 228 or 328) is mounted in the inner passageway of the housing. The firestop extension is mounted on the coupling such that the intumescent material extends downward beyond a second end (12B, 212B or 312B) of the coupling. When the coupling assembly is exposed to heat, the intumescent material expands into the inner passageway of the housing of the firestop extension and blocks the second end of the coupling which prevents the transmission of smoke and fire through the coupling assembly.

An intersection member is provided for use in a raised floor system having a plurality of support pedestals, a plurality of floor panels, and at least one cable support apparatus wherein the intersection member includes a cable support section, and connecting portions extending from the cable support section, the connecting portions being configured and dimensioned to retain the cable support section in place when positioned at the intersection of at least two cable pathways. A hardware mounting assembly is provided for mounting hardware relative to a cable support apparatus, which includes a bracket portion configured and dimensioned to support various hardware components and position the components relative to a cable support apparatus, and a plurality of notches formed along the bracket portion, the notches being configured and dimensioned to engage portions of the cable support apparatus such that the bracket portion is maintained a predetermined relative distance from the cable support apparatus.

A building drainage system including: a drainage stack passing through stories in the vertical direction; appliance drainage pipes connected to water-service terminal appliances on each of the stories; and a combined joint for connecting the appliance drainage pipes provided on each of the stories to the drainage stack. In this system, the combined joint for connecting the appliance drainage pipes provided on each of the stories to the drainage stack is at a level lower than that of a floor slab of the story, to sufficiently give a vertical velocity component to a fluid flowing in each of the appliance drainage pipes, thereby combining the fluid to a fluid flowing in the drainage stack.

A process of manufacturing concrete construction elements is provided. A first sheath is placed in a first mold, the first sheath connected at an end to a first sleeve applied against a wall of the mold, the sleeve engaging a positioning boss placed on the wall. Concrete is poured into the first mold and set to obtain the first element. The first element is extracted from the first mold and includes a contact face shaped by the wall. A second sheath is placed in a second mold, the second mold having one side formed by the contact face. The second sheath includes an end connected to a second sleeve held in position relative to the first sleeve by a positioning joint. Concrete is poured into the second mold and set to obtain a second element. The second element is extracted from the second mold by disengaging the positioning joint.

A plate to reinforce a shear panel that has been weakened by an opening extending through the panel is provided. The plate is selected to have a shear load capacity greater than the shear panel without the opening. The plate has a plate opening similar to the panel opening, and is secured to the panel with a predetermined strength and arrangement of panel fasteners. The plate is sized to fit between adjacent structural members. Opposing side flanges extend outwardly from the plate. Flange fasteners of predetermined strength and spacings are used to secure the flanges to the structural members.

A modular exhibit panel and lock system includes a first wedge secured within a first channel of a first object, such as a modular exhibit panel. A second wedge is secured within a second channel of a second object, such as a second panel. The first and second objects are securely associated with one another by placing the first wedge in the first channel, and the second wedge in the second channel in an orientation generally opposite of a first wedge and sliding the first and second channel relative to one another so that the first and second wedges interlock causing the first and second objects to be connected to one another. A multi-faceted panel connector having channels in at least two facets thereof, and a third wedge within these channels, can be used to securely associate panels of the system with one another.

A fixed barrier module includes a support post for supporting two adjacent panels each of which are hingeable. A cut-away portion in a base portion of the support post accepts two cable-carrying swivel joints that are utilized as cable conduits through the support post. The swivel joints rotate with the panels, and allow cables to follow the fixed barrier contour. Cable carrier extrusions attach to the swivel joints to extend the cable conduit below a panel section and to an adjacent support post. The swivel joints and hingeable panels allow the fixed barrier to change direction to follow any desired contour using a single-type of a support post.

A floor system includes a plurality of panels placed on a base floor. A space is formed between the panels and the base floor for laying cables. A plurality of sliding plates are arranged on the base floor. A plurality of supports are provided and each support of the plurality of supports is arranged on each of the sliding plates so as to freely slide. The plurality of panels are supported by the plurality of supports by being fixed on a pedestal of the each support of the plurality of supports. The plurality of panels are hence connected to each other to form a single floor surface. The dynamic coefficient of friction between the bottom of the supports and the sliding plates is selected to be a value within a range of 0.09 to 0.25.
