    Abstract: The invention relates to a structural element (1) in the form of a particularly sandwich-like facade panel. The structural element (1) comprises a substrate in the form of a monolithic glass plate (2) having an upper side which forms the outer face of the structural element (1) realized in particular as a facade panel. The structural element (1) further comprises a plurality of photovoltaic modules (3) arranged in a row or in an array. The invention particularly provides for the photovoltaic modules (3) to be materially laminated onto an underside of the substrate (2) opposite from the upper side particularly in the course of an autoclave process.

    Abstract: A facade panel conditioning system for installation on a new or existing building is disclosed. The system includes modular panels, a structural anchor, hydronic piping, and ductwork. The panels attach to each other around the exterior of the building forming an insulated shell. The anchor attaches the panels to the building structure forming an air cavity between each individual panel and the exterior. The hydronic piping transfers heat to the air cavity and individual units of the building. The ductwork delivers ventilated air and exhaust air to the air cavity and individual units. The hydronic piping of a panel connects to the hydronic piping of an adjacent panel forming a hydronic piping system that distributes heat or cool throughout the shell. The air duct of a panel connects to the air duct of an adjacent panel forming an air duct ventilation system that distributes air throughout the shell.

    Abstract: A double skin façade (DSF) for a building is disclosed. The DSF has a first façade, a second façade, and a gap extending therebetween. Movement of air is driven in an upward direction toward an upper end of the DSF, causing movement of air contaminants from a lower end of the DSF to the upper end of the DSF, and thereby enhancing the air quality of the street canyon by removing air contaminants from a street level adjacent the building. Also disclosed is a building having a DSF, and a method of enhancing air quality in a street canyon by constructing a DSF on a building.
