摘要: An adjustable suspension assembly for suspending a lower structure such as a platform from an upper structure such as a portion of a bridge. A chain, which is attachable at one end to the upper structure or to an end of a cable which is attachable at its other end to the upper structure, is attached at its other end to a device. The device, which is attachable to the lower structure, has a pair of aligned apertures in its side walls for receiving pins. The pins are spaced to receive a thickness of a chain link but not to receive a width of the link, whereby a selected link to achieve a desired lower structure height may be cinched between the pins. When the chain is attached to a cable, the cable has an eyelet formed by folding an end portion of the cable back over the cable and swaging the cable end portion to the cable. The chain is attached to said eyelet by receiving the end portion of the cable in one of the chain links before the cable end portion is swaged to the cable.

摘要: A work scaffold having a platform and leg assemblies rotatably attached to each end of the platform. The platform may have a handle connected to free end that extends out the sides of the platform, which engage with links attached to the leg assemblies and the platform to lock the scaffold in an open or closed position. The platform may have hooks that extend out beyond the ends of the platform from under the platform so a second work scaffold can be situated on the hooks. The platform may be formed of boards with holes that receive cross members. A method for using a work scaffold. A method for forming a work scaffold.

摘要: An assembly of a sling detachably attached to an adjustment device for suspending one structure relative to another structure. The adjustment device comprises a pair of elongate spaced apart plates which are attached to each other and to a hook, for attachment to one of the structures, at the first end portion. Each plate has a plurality of pairs of longitudinally spaced aligned holes for receiving a pin for connecting one end of a sling to the adjustment device at a selected incremental one of the plurality of pairs of holes. The other end of the sling is connected to the other structure to adjust the distance over which the one structure is suspended relative to the other structure. To allow greater adjustability, two or more of the adjustment devices are joined end-to-end.

摘要: An improved scaffolding tie 1 for connecting a scaffolding tarpaulin 8 to a scaffolding pole 9 is disclosed. The tie 1 comprises an anchor 4 for anchoring the tie 1 to the scaffolding tarpaulin 8, an attachment portion 6 for attaching the tie 1 to a scaffolding pole 9 and a ligament 5. The ligament 5 is connected between the anchor 4 and the attachment portion 6. The ligament 5 is arranged, in use, to bias the anchor 4 and attachment portion 6 towards one another. The attachment portion 6 comprises a fastening means 2 arranged, in use, to form a loop around a scaffolding pole 9 to attach the attachment portion 6 thereto. The fastening means 2 comprises a ratchet mechanism 26 arranged to restrain against expansion of the loop but permit ratcheted contraction of the loop.

摘要: A support member is provided for joining scaffolding plank segments comprising a first support surface for supporting a first scaffolding plank segment and a second support surface parallel to the first support surface for supporting a second scaffolding plank segment. A joining member joins the first and second plank segments, a first retainer is provided for retaining the first scaffolding plank segment on the first support surface and a second retainer for retaining the second scaffolding plank segment on the second support surface. A system is further provided comprising at least two scaffolding plank segments and a bracket, such as that described above, for supporting an end of each of the segments.

摘要: Collapsible scaffolding comprises a number of platforms which can be suspended in spaced vertical array for chains secured to the corners of the platform, and arranged at the top for the support of the scaffolding by a crane or a horizontally movable trolley. Additional cables at each end of the platforms are each secured at the lower end to the lowest platform and pass through guides secured to the intermediate and top platforms to a winch enabling the platform to be quickly lifted and stacked but allowing them to be quickly lowered and erected. The guides provide lateral location of the stacked platforms.
