    摘要: The exit device of the present invention has an elongated securing member, such as a deadbolt or the like, adapted to be mounted horizontally adjacent the free end of a door and a pivoting member inward of the door. The pivoting member has a peripheral portion which rolls against the securing member and serves as an anti-friction bearing and counters against the inward force on the securing member opposing the opening force on the door. In one embodiment, the pivoting member is pivoted by an actuating means, such as a press bar, and engages and retracts the securing member. In another embodiment, the securing member is retracted by the actuating means. The pivoting member may also include a keeper contact surface which, as the door closes, is contacted by the keeper and the pivoting member is pivoted inward to retract the securing member.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a flush latch locking mechanism for a door. In our experience, the locking member of prior art flush latches intended for use on doors 27 mm thick only travel a maximum distance of 7 mm. Therefore, there is very little tolerance for variation in the space between the door and door jamb if the door is to be held securely in a closed position. The present invention relates to a flush latch, locking mechanism including an operating lever and a retractable locking member that travels between a rearward retracted position and a forward advanced position. The locking member includes a cam surface having a raised portion which is engaged by the lever in operation so that the locking member can travel up to 13 mm when fitted to a 27 mm thick door.

The latch mechanism further has a catch connected to the free end of the arm. The base is adapted to be attached to a first component, and the catch is adapted to releasably engage a second component to releasably hold the first component against the second component. The release latch further includes a release mechanism adapted to be attached to the first component, and being movable relative to the base. When the release mechanism is moved, the release mechanism engages the arm to move the arm, thereby causing the catch to disengage from the second component and allowing the first component to be moved away from the second component.

    摘要: A handle for a movable closure such as a screen having at least one edge frame preferably for retaining a screen cloth, said closure being movable into a slot-like recess disposed in a structure against which the closure engages; said handle comprising a first inside flexible member and a second outside flexible member each having a mounting portion for mounting to said at least one edge frame, said mounting portions and preferably said first and second members extending in a direction substantially normal to the direction in which the closure moves, said first inside flexible member and second outside flexible for inter-fitting with one another to provide said handle, said first inside flexible member including, a first abutting part including a bearing surface for abutment with said second outside flexible member, and a resilient latch finger formed integrally therewith and extending from the plane of the first inside flexible member so as to engage in a latching relationship with a latch portion provided with said structure, said resilient latch finger being deflectable generally towards and away from the plane of the closure to allow it to engage with said latch portion, said second outside flexible member including a second abutting part having a bearing surface (for example a bull-nose end) for abutment with the first bearing surface of said first inside flexible member, wherein when said first inside flexible member is flexed in a first direction the resilient latch finger will be placed in a position to engage/disengage said latch portion, and wherein when said second outside flexible member is flexed in said first direction said second bearing surface of said second abutting part thereof will engage said first bearing surface of said first abutting part of said first inside flexible member thereby causing said first inside flexible member to flex in said first direction placing said the resilient latch finger in a position to engage/disengage said latch portion, thereby providing a simple inside and outside latch release for said closure.

    摘要: A latch assembly for a computer or other electronic device includes a lever which is adapted to receive a spring arm integrally molded with a latch. The latch also includes integrally molded pivot pins which are guided by ramps into pivot holes in the lever to mate the latch and lever together. Once assembled, the latch is movable to and between engaged and disengaged positions for closure with a catch on the computer, electronic or other workpiece device. The latch assembly incorporates specific changes to existing parts while reducing the number of parts and the cost of and complexity for assembly. The design is much more easily accommodated in automated assembly equipment to further reduce assembly costs and increase productivity throughput.
