    摘要: Assembling window frame assemblies often requires skilled labor at a construction site. Various aspects of the invention provide frame assemblies and methods of installing that may reduce the need of skilled carpenters on-site in some circumstances. In one particular example, the invention provides a window frame assembly that includes a cover, a main frame, and a glazing pane. The cover has a transverse member that includes a mating projection. The main frame has a window opening and a confronting periphery. The confronting periphery includes a peripheral recess and a guide, with the peripheral recess being sized to telescopically receive a portion of the cover mating projection. The guide may include an outwardly flared guide surface that is adapted to guide the leading edge of the mating projection into the recess. The presence of the guide can greatly facilitate assembly of the cover and the main frame in a window housing.

    摘要: A method of constructing stained glass window systems is described. The stained glass window system includes a stained glass panel that includes a stained glass member joined to a seam member of a frame member with a joining material. A metal decorative silhouette is placed on one of the major surfaces of the stained glass panel and is joined thereto by applying a joining material to an aperture formed in the silhouette. In this manner, the silhouette obscures the seam member of the frame member. Optionally, a second silhouette may be joined to the opposing major face of the stained glass panel so that the design of the silhouette may be viewed from either side of the stained glass window. Additionally, the stained glass window system can be provided with at least one glass panel member, a peripheral frame member and peripheral insulation member.

The method includes a first grinding step for grinding an edge of a sheet glass so as to provide the edge with an outwardly convex curved shape, and a finishing step for finishing a bordering portion which has been formed by the first grinding step between the curved edge and each flat side face of the sheet glass, so as to provide this bordering portion with a greater smoothness than smoothness provided by the first grinding step. A heat-tempered sheet glass using the method and a fire-resistant construction material using this heat-tempered sheet glass are also disclosed.

    摘要: The invention concerns a linear connector of plastic material for joining hollow spacing profiles of multiple insulating glasses comprising a longitudinal body having a complete or essentially complete U-configured cross-section for the passage of a hygroscopic powder and being insertable into the hollow space of the one spacing profile as well as the hollow space of the other spacing profile of the two profile bodies to be joined. The surface of the linear connector is provided with abutment elements which are pushed against the opposing front faces of the profile bodies upon the insertion of the linear connector into the profile bodies. Moreover, the surface of the linear connector is provided with blade-like springs in order to create a strong seat between the body and the inner wall of the spacing profiles. In order to avoid deformation already upon the insertion of the linear connector into the hollow space of the spacing profiles on the connector resulting in an essential decrease of the frictional forces developed between its surface and the inner wall of the spacing profile opposite thereto and thus affecting negatively the required strong seat, it is proposed to configure the linear connector such that the blade-like springs extending from the lateral surfaces of the two legs of the U-profile body outwardly are connected by thin bars and that the two parallel legs of the U-profile body are provided on its inner wall with anchoring ribs supported by the bottom plate of the U-profile body.

    摘要: An insert for a glazing unit includes a body having a width and a height. The insert is configured to fit within the spacer of the glazing unit. A typical glazing unit has at least two outer glazing sheets separated by a substantially rigid, U-shaped spacer disposed about the perimeter of the sheets to create an interior cavity between the outer sheets and the spacer. The width and height of the body of the insert are adapted to allow the insert to fit within the U-shaped spacer. The spacer has a longitudinal length dimension substantially equal to the perimeter of the glazing sheets. The body of the insert also has a longitudinal length dimension substantially equal to the length of the spacer. The body of the insert is fabricated from a non-flowable material having substantially stable dimensions. In one embodiment of the invention, the insert includes an inwardly facing, intermediate glazing sheet-receiving channel that is adapted to slidably receive and position an intermediate glazing sheet.

    摘要: A linear connector for joining hollow spacing profiles and hollow bar profiles of a multiple insulating glass. The connector includes a flat, longitudinal body which is to be inserted at one end into a first spacing profile and with its other end into a second spacing profile. The surfaces of the connector are provided with an abutment element positioned at its center. The abutment element touches the front faces of the spacing profiles on insertion of the linear connector into the spacing profiles which are to be connected to one another. The longitudinal body includes a double-T-cross-section having distantly parallel and horizontal cross-bars which are connected by at least one vertical center bar and contacted at least partly in the mounted condition of the linear connector by the opposing surfaces of the inner wall of the spacing profiles. At least one of the two cross-bars of the double-T-cross-section is provided in the center of its length with a recess so that welding of spacing profiles by heat treatment is possible without melting the plastic material of the linear connector.
